No doubt Ill be called racist....but part of the reason, at least here in Dallas, they don’t use crosswalks. Cross the street whenever, wherever they like. Middle of the block, on the freeway(yes, freeway) at night.

This is such a racist country that some people don't have to follow those awful racist laws! Rules are for thee but not for me.

    Bang on.
Rules, laws, authorities. Means nothing to a lot of them in the ghetto.

    Sad

It all comes down to physics, light refraction and contrast. It is science. True black is the absence of light. So varying shades of black make it difficult to distinguish contrasts from light to dark in poorly lit conditions. It has nothing to do with racism but light physics. People aren't very good witnesses with white people after traumatic situations.

Can't you adjust the Brightness or Contrast, like we could do on our TV sets that came with vacuum tubes?

I wish...I'd adjust it to not see trolls. Might have to tweet Elon on that one.

Interesting graphic but it raises the question: do Asians (especially from India, SE Asia and southern China) and Pacific Islanders have lighter skin tones than the rest of the population? Why is the "relative pedestrian danger" percentage so much lower for the Asian/Pacific Islanders? There may be other factors involved.

Pretty soon during this pandemic they'll force everyone to wear a reflective mask when out at night. Oh, did I conflate?
