Anyone know how he compares to Costello in terms of running/passing?

Glad they are trying to be safe for his sake but our odds just improved.

I’m sure we’ll manage to get him in the Heisman discussion.

He looked more than competent last week. Looks more mobile than KJ. Was a very highly rated QB out of high school. Redshirt sophomore so this is his 3rd year on the team.

He was touted as a 5 star guy. Against Northwestern the announcers said he is more mobile than Costello.

Of course, we make every opposing qb look like Jessee Owen's anyway

Davis is actually a better thrower than Costello. Runner not so much. He was involved in their fall camp heavily, taking almost equal snaps to Costello. He knows the play book. However he needs game experience and IMO might not be quite as savvy as Costello. The chance we win is now better than 55%.......imo. Davis ain't no Costello......not yet......but.......if he gets comfortable who knows. We need to make him uncomfortable early in the game........so......Helton will think long and hard and play a totally vanilla defense. Hence the 45% chance we lose. We can always depend on Helton.

^^^thanks, everyone. And yeah-I think Shaw could probably pull somebody out of the stands and he'd still give Clancy fits.

Can we count on Clancy to pressure him? If he doesn’t Clay deserves thumbs down in Coli by fans

Not me. I think the DBs could use a few more games before they go against a QB of Costello's caliber. Let 'em get some seasoning as the difficulty level ratchets up.

How far we have fallen. What happened to "you want to be the best, you have to play the best". While I totally understand your sentiment, I detest the concepts of playing less, playing soft, playing not to lose.

The gist I am getting from the picks I have seen on different TV shows if Costello plays Stanford wins in a close game …….IF Costello does not play they ALL seem to be picking USC . I will ALWAYS pick SC...…….FIGHT ON !
