I realize this comment is PIC, but based on his interview after the game, Mychale Salahuddin doesn't sound committed to USC at all this point. I'd say we're more like his current leader, again, based on Mychale's own words. We shall see...

    Saying SOME RECRUITS is right.

I haven't seen that many high school football players at an SC game in a long time.

It looked like the entire Mater Dei team and coaching staff was there.

I was walking with the crew near the peristyle area inside the Coliseum and this group of
recruits is gathered taking a picture with the dude who played Tupac in the latest biopic on his life.

One kid is head and shoulders above the rest, and one of my group asks if he is on the SC basketball team.
I'm like nope . . . that's Devon Williams, one of the top WR recruits in the country.

The kid is all of 6'5 as a receiver folks.

Williams has Oregon as his leader at the moment - and even UGLA was on his list (probably not anymore with Mora out the door.)

But you just can't count out this SC staff when it comes to recruiting comebacks.

That is a nice list; eight official visitors, 23 unofficial visitors that we know of.
Some highly-rated recruits on that list, as well as one local recruit that has been committed to Ohio State for a LONG time, but keeps showing up at a lot of USC games.

This is the one I keep noticing. Wouldn't surprise me if he does flip, but would make me happy if he did.

The pitch was made to let him know he's a priority, now it's a matter of seeing where things stand after the family sits down and reviews all their choices.

He got to spend plenty of time on the visit with the Polynesian crew, guys like Tufele, Marlon and Pili. I think the fact that those guys have succeeded and are part of the future, along with current veterans like Toa and Viane, is an important selling point.

Griffin and Woodbey, nice to see them there. And always good to see Amon-Ra.

Can we just take that class of 2019 group right now?

Djibril is interesting to me, he got an offer earlier this year and is kind of flying under the radar as an option, reminding me a little of Uchenna Nwosu as an athletic S/LB from HS who will bulk up.

100% agree with you and I've been using the same comparison. He is a project, but could be a really good one down the road.

BTW, what are your thoughts on Solomon T? I've watched several MD games this year and he rarely jumps out at me. I think he is playing a little out of position at OLB and think he is much better suited as an ILB. I'd love to get him, but am not as high on him as I was. But the thing with him is his motor, desire and passion. Those are intangibles that can make a player elite.

I hear what you're saying in that he hasn't taken over consistently but there have been a couple flashes where you just say "OK, there it is", I just want him on my football team. The intangibles you mention are so good with him.

I think he could end up at either spot depending on how he adds bulk, he's actually on the lean side right now for how physical he is.

Halid is just a football player.

At 6'1, 185lbs right now, you wonder how big he can get, and where he'd play in the current defense at SC.

It might be Safety IF he can play in space, or LB If he can add a lot of weight.

But he reminds me of Dion Bailey ...one of my favorite Trojans.

Not the ideal size for LB, but just a high IQ player, sure tackler and leader on the field.

Couldn't agree more! He & Aashari Crosswell both remind me of D. Bailey with their sure tackling & physical style of play.

I think it's in play, especially if Demetrice Martin isn't there. I would have no problem if Martin ended up on our staff at some point.

@scfanjosh it would be very hard for me not to imagine Woodbey flipping to USC, but he has been spotted on campus for the entire season and has yet to flip so something about that situation makes me ride the fence.
Unless, is he a silent commit?..

Yes, he was a GA in 2006-7, and Sark hired him at UW when he went there.
