So they don't make a decision on McCoy and they get what they want, him to sit out a year. Sad that they can't get together and say yes or no, what is taking them so long? The issue is not that McCoy needs to play this year, but the process they are forcing him to go through, waiting, waiting and no communication.

They will probably wait until the last week of the season and say “yeah, he is cleared to play now”

I don't know for sure that USC has submitted the waiver to the NCAA. Each time Clay Helton has been asked about it, he says something to the effect of, "We're taking our time with it." Maybe I'm reading into that, but I get the sense that everybody involved (McCoy, Helton, USC) are just fine giving McCoy some time off. There is no sign of him at practice, and while I saw him on the sideline for the Fresno State game, I did not see him for Stanford (doesn't mean he wasn't there. Just that I didn't see him.)

Last report was he hadn't signed the waiver. They know he's sitting out the year so there's no reason to try.

That’s fine at this point. He needs to heal.

At this point, his health issue is scaring me to think he may not be able to play at all, future in doubt

I have to believe that Bru understands the circumstances for which he put himself in with the clearance. Kid should have never left in the beginning.

NZAA would have surly cleared him if he was at UGLY. Just more USC blocking.

I REALLY hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that Bru will never play a single down with us.

Unfortunately, I think it is more likely you are right. There is some sentiment that Bru isn't sure if he wants to play anymore football.

I may be in the minority here, but I am fine with McCoy sitting out this season.
There is a logjam in front of him, even in our Air-Raid offense.
If he plays, where is slotted, the 4th best WR?

I’d rather him sit, figure out his situation, aim for a 2020 return/debut.
Also, that will give us enough time to figure out everything going on with him off the field.

Just my speculation based upon everything I've read: mononucleosis.

So much fun sitting in front of computer thinking on conspiracy theories......the OP was about if the waiver was granted don't know how that question brings....He wont play for USC, Bru's heart is not in playing anymore....c'mon now....don't make things up if YOU do not know and sometime in the future i hope WE will stop blaming the NCAA for all the wrongs with our beloved program.....Just Saying

Between his health issue and his transferitus you have to wonder.

That's what I thought too. I got it when I was 50 years old (no one would kiss me when I was that old so it remains baffling) but it had about a six month hold on me. The SC doctors said they could not figure it out and it is an easy to diagnose in blood chemistry I think. Perhaps there is a social Mono stigma? they knew but can't tell anyone?

    Very strange

Very good post. We have the tendency around here to let our minds run a little bit wild with speculation, and we need to rein ourselves in sometimes.

I don’t know what Bru’s future holds, but I see no reason yet to think that Bru will not be playing next season. We are all speculating on what could have been the source of his fever, but none of us knows, and we may never know. That’s his private information.

Until I hear something from Bru or the team to the contrary, I’m expecting Bru to be full strength going into next season and playing with a chip on his shoulder.

It's my understanding they have a few tests that can diagnose Mono. One report said Fever Of Unknown Origin. That's what they use when they don't know what you have. So I doubt that's it.
