    I saw enough last year.
I'm sure our new AD has been told by enough big donors that either Clay is gone or their money is....
    Clay is done

Almost vomited when he was interviewed at the beginning of the game about the new AD announced..."what a great opportunity" was his response.

Are you fking serious? What about the opportunity you were given 4 years ago?

This guy is such a tool. I just hope new AD MB sees thru his BS.

I realize everyone likes to spew their venom after the latest ugly win, but the new administration and Bohn understand Helton is a middling 6-7 wins a year coach and that's simply won't fly at this university. We'll beat Cal and Cal L.A. but then Helton will still be let go and Harrell will coach us in the Whocares Bowl. They will then stencil "U. Meyer - Head Coach" on the closest parking spot next to the McKay Center, and we can then listen for USCsway, conquest and the idiot Oregon poster's heads all exploding.

That would be wonderful, but why delay the inevitable? Fire him now so we as a program can move on cleanly

A couple more recruiting classes like this one and he's not going to be winning 6-7 games. I have never understood the stigma some attach to mid-season firings. Obviously Dr. Folt and AD Bohn see some merit to waiting until the end of the season but I surely don't. The man is incompetent and insufferable and casts a pall over the entire program.

Only 2 games left. Only question is whether Helton will be allowed to coach the bowl game.
I would say the pac 12 champ game if they actually made it, but that would require that they beat UCLA, Cal and Utah losing.
    O
I don’t see us beating UCLA at all. I think UCLA upsets Utah next weekend

    I have to agree.
The sooner they pull the trigger the better so we can still get this class turned around if they have a solid hire on the line.
    That’s the $64 question.

My financial support to USC ended with the NZAA fiasco. Others schools walk we get the proverbial screw! Then it a was Max, Hayden, Cutty Sark, COach O, Helton Swann, Drama. Then the other issues hidden by Max! Wallet is closed until the University gets its act together in Administration and Athletic department.

USC is a Brand that needs to Top notch across the board! Fight on beat Kalimexazula!

They simply won't fire him before the end of the regular season and we all know that. I hope the timing with hiring Urban is soon enough to salvage the recruiting class.

Kudos to Florida State for having the balls to turf Willy Taggert during the season. It communicates to everyone (recruits, donors, players) that they are serious about winning and will not put up with this mediocrity any longer.

What we need: No drama, just a pink slip and an assistant to help Clay clean out his office. No press conference, just a short press release: "Clay Helton is no longer employed by USC. He was removed from his responsibilities due to performance issues. We wish him all the best in all his future endeavors."

Rip that bandaid off quickly. Quit screwing around.

Like you said, unless that path runs to and through the Pac-12 Championship game, no.

You can thank scumbag Reggie for the NCAA fiasco and all the repercussions.

I compare this to being on a lifeline and waiting for Bohn to pull the plug. It is just a matter of when!

Normally, I would disagree with you about firing during the season. But, when you have an unemployed HOF coach just itching to get back in the game, pulling the trigger and making this move sooner rather than later makes sense. Especially since there's no guarantee Meyer's just sitting and waiting for SC. He is being solicited by other schools and he could slip away. So moving forward immediately does makes sense.

Here’s the biggest problem, the team only competes for one quarter and runs out of gas. Pathetic conditioning!
