Sean Snyder will be our Special Teams Coordinator.
He is son of Bill Snyder. How good is he?

The fans seem to respect his skills as a STC coach.

If he just knows when NOT to kick it to a guy and let’s the punter boom the freakin ball??? He’s already a big improvement.

They say he is a hard working coach and puts in long hours. I guess that will change under Helton.

The fact he’s leaving a program he’s been at for 26 years to come to So Cal is kind of surprising...we’re not a sexy place to be at. I respect his experience and welcome the new blood.

I think KK would have a different viewpoint on that thought. He got poached by the NFL instantaneously. GH was also courted by the NFL.

Or not have two players wear the same number during the kickoff return or punt return.

Snyder is a home run hire as far as ST coaches go. You cannot get better than him. He's regarded as the best if not one of the best in the business.

Unless you’re Helton and think Baxter still is the best ST coach in the country....

This is actually a big time hire.
He's won multiple ST coaching awards.
Most likely he was born in California as his father was coaching high school football in the state during that time period. He also knows his father hot his college coaching start as a GA under HC McKay.
By the way he was being paid $200k as an analyst. So I imagine he got a good offer to come to USC.
This staff is looking pretty solid overall.

$200k goes a long way in Manhattan, Kansas, but it won’t even get you a parking space in Manhattan Beach.

He’s obviously getting more than that at USC.

Unfortunately, those aren’t his decisions. Those are all HC decisions, and that hasn’t changed.

Baxter was considered one of the best at one time too. Those Fresno St teams, that is what they were known for, great Special Teams. Kind of like the west coach version of VaTech. Frank Beamer was the GOAT ST coach Baxter was National ST coach of the year. Not sure what happened.
