    Greetings Trojan FB Fans,

I agree with most of this 5-page preview. I’m predicting a 10-2 regular season or better with potentially a couple of tough road losses as our schedule is one of top 5 toughest in the nation as always. But there is a lot to be excited about, and it starts with a veteran OL & defense. Some SC fans forget that we replaced 3 starters on the OL last season, & all 3 were All Pac-12 in 2016. Then they lost #60 Viane T. in game 4 so they played the majority of 2017 with 4 new OL starters. That’s a tough way to go for any team. Things will be much different in 2018 as we will punish defensive fronts with a solid returning group & plenty of talented depth. Remember the name of RS Frosh Jalen McKenzie. He’s going to make a name for himself sooner than later.

Defensively, we return the best group of DB’s & LB’s in the conference, & the DL will be solid with plenty of depth as well. Cam Smith is a rock in the middle & the young DL will come on strong this season. Of course, we are going with a new QB, but if JT Daniels plays as well as I believe he can as a FR, then look out. Lots of veteran talent at the skill positions plus top OL will help any of our QB’s look good in 2018. Enjoy friends & Fight On!

All i know is that we better beat the breaks off of UNLV and sub for the other talent. Given the new ruling about freshman players.

I question the accuracy of that analysis. No mention of Michael Pittman, one of our elite players
USC might have the Pac 12's best O-Line? Are you kidding?
I feel 10 wins is overly optimistic

You may end up being right about the O-line but don’t forget the Drevno factor. He’s in charge of the run game now so i’m feeling positive about that.

Best O & D players? If he stays healthy, Carr will literally run away with that on the offensive side. On D, I see Pili taking a step up and anchoring a deep and talented DL, being the linchpin for Gustin & crew to wreak havoc.

Our D must but our O in positions to win. If we lose the field position battle, we could be in for a long year. However if the D is good as advertised and we do not turn the ball over--it could be a pretty good year.

Very keen observation (couldn’t resist)! I agree, I think with the offensive pace Helton will try to run this year, the field position becomes a key factor. If our D is as advertised, we could be looking at a very good year.

I’d like to think we’ll have some one to run back punts and kickoffs this year where we don’t lose an additional 5-10 yds a kick.
