Based on performance against highly ranked domers with no turnovers and fewer penalties as long as the defense improves a 9-3 season with a Pac 12 title is likely. If that happens Helton will not be fired. images (50).jpeg

I don’t see them beating Oregon. And I think if Tate is on, Arizona is a potential loss as well

The point is turnovers and dumb penalties are the major factors in losses to BYU and the Huskies. If not for those issues we would be 5-1. Improvement and growth is happening. Poor tackling hurt us against ND. If the defense is better we might be 6-0.

Losing out is possible too. Neither will happen.

We are the essence of mediocre. That can NEVER be good enough. Ever! It’s a sad, sad, sad day when losing to ND by 3 satisfies our coach, our team and our fans.

Are you kidding me? Right now clown is .500 halfway through the season.

This team drops 2 more, Oregon being one of them.

Make no mistake, he is gone after the final game of the season. Meyer likely to take his place. You can quote me on that.

If 5-7, 6-6 or even 7-5 season results he deserves to be cut loose. Time will tell. Just saying there was marked improvement against domers that is encouraging.

We have all seen this before. He is on a two game losing streak. We couldn’t contain Book. What the heck will Tate do to that defense.

oregon. cal, ASSU and Arizona are all tough...(we have no answer for running QBs like Az and ASSU have. Herbert is good. Cal qb is now a question mark)
    Colo at home never easy...

and Clay has not proven he can stop Kelly

    let us be realistic here

One of the reasons why USC doesn't have an answer for a running QB is that they are using an 275lb defensive lineman as a spy. That was just embarrassing.

If and only if they continue to play like they did in the second half v ND, then they have good chance to win most of their remaining games. The only team left on the schedule w an outstanding D is Cal Bears. They have already gone through the big physical teams. Its up to the offense now to score points and win games.

I'm going for 6-6 with probable losses to Oregon (at home, gulp) and ASU. Colorado, is iffy. The Buffs are at home and playing hard for their new coach. If, heaven forbid, Zona pulls the upset next week, all bets are off. Especially the likelihood that Helton is allowed tp finish it out.

Man, you must be talking to Helton, a lot. I don't think we are seeing that much improvement. Starting QB returned and played well. Staff decided to play Stepp more and he ran with power and authority. O line gave up 4 sacks and didn't dominate at point of attack.
Defense continues to be out schemed and they continue to do a horrendous job of tackling. Special teams continue to not be special.

I think the kids are still playing hard but I still see a staff that doesn't out coached the other team.

Pumpers don't know how to be realistic and will say you aren't a true fan if you are realistic so we are supposed to expect to win out and be happy with a Pac 12 title. Oh yeah and then we can keep Helton. He's a nice guy. Still learning to be a HC but a nice guy.

I feel sorry for Conquest 4ever, because only someone suffering from mental delusion would post what he does. The facts are:
    1) The team is better than last year(not that it is much of a standard) because of upgrades in the coaching staff, a decision forced on Helton.
    2) Helton puts us a great deficiency coaching wise
    3) A quality head coach would have won last nights game, as well as BYU(WHO STINKS)
    4) Our recruiting is just plain HORRIBLE
5)Why Stepp was redshirted last year, and still has trouble getting on the field, is just one, of countless examples of Helton playing favorites(Max Browne,Toa,Daniels) and not the best player.
In a week or two, we will be hearing that is we go 8-4, Helton deserves to keep his job.

You're talking about realistic? If and I emphasize "if" USC wins the Pac 12 you believe it is "realistic" that Helton will be fired?
