i enjoyed many of his works. I read Winds of War and War and Remembrance 3 times.

At first he thought Bogart was wrong for the part of Queeg, but came around to admire the performance.

Wouk's works were wonderful. Winds of War made a great TV series. Almost a documentary. Haven' read War and Remembrance. Have put on a bucket list.

Good movie because of Fred MacMurray too.

yep, I thought Fred was deserving of Oscar consideration.

Movie was a decent stab at the book.

Fred is so often Mr. Nice Guy - think My Three Sons - but his two best movie roles (this and Double Indemnity) had him as anything but.

I still have my father's copy of the Caine Mutiny. He was a 20 year Navy Veteran ('42-'62) Another Wouk book I enjoyed was Marjorie Morningstar.

Fred MacMurray and Van Heflin were perhaps two of the most underrated actors of all time.
