And why do we want an Air Raid offense?

Because we have a shitty offensive line that can only do one thing, pass block. And they can't even do that well. Hopefully, the Drevno effect will improve this as he will have an entire spring to get them playing better and jelling.

    Clemson vs Bama.
Clemson is not necessary the Mike Leach Air Raid.
Neither were KK or Graham Harrell.

All of these offenses put the QB in position to win.
You just have to make sure you have someone ready behind.

You can't be like the Bama of the old.
Even Alabama recognized this and went with Tua.

    You have to attack downfield.

How could he have turned down an offer if he only interviewed today? Doesn’t pass the sniff test

    This is the real question.

The Air Raid is not traditional USC football, but it is unquestionably effective at moving the football and putting points on the board. And Air Raid schemes are showing signs of being pretty effective in the NFL right now. And if OU had any defense to speak of, they’d have played for the NC this year.

But the bigger question is this: Are there any other top OC’s available or that could be lured here that run an offense more in line with traditional USC football?

Exactly. I’m not sure why people are having so much trouble grasping this.

We have a shit load of WR we should be an Air Raid offense.

Let’s see how bad Swann and Helton fucks this up.

When did Mike Leach win a NC with his Air raid offense ? The Air Raid attack is a loser. The only reason Tailback U would sink to that level would be because the talent pool is not there anymore, or the Heac Coach doesn't have winning the NC as a goal.

That could work both ways couldn't it? Maybe Harrell should ask for a hefty buyout in case Helton gets canned and the new HC doesn't want Harrell.

Probably getting a little ahead of myself here.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but who really cares if we get Graham Harrell as our OC? Our University and this football program are in shambles and Graham Harrell is not going to come in here like a white knight riding atop Traveller and change that fact. There is no offense we can run that will save this team from going better than 5-7 next year and there's NO WAY Graham Harrell will be the USC head coach in 2020. So again, who cares if he's hired as the OC or not.

Wake me up when we have a new University President, new AD and a new HC with an entirely new staff who can recruit, keep their commitments from transferring and finally develop their talent.

Come on. Let us celebrate having a single coach on the payroll who is recognized as a bright, innovative, up and coming coach instead of all being journeymen trying to squeeze in a few more paychecks before retiring.

Because it has the word "offense" in the title. We didn't have one of those last year... or actually for three years if you take away the individual heroics making it look like we had an actual offensive philosophy.

And, just a tad more media coverage at SC versus North Texas if you have success - which shouldn't be that hard to do assuming a moderate level of offensive competence against awful Pac-12 defenses.

Because the kids skills on this team are more suited to the air raid offense than the power running offense....

This is cute and a weird flex but not how negotiations work. Under common law (I.e. Legally speaking) if there is an explicit continuation of the negotiations then it’s considered a new offer. So while you’re right you’re also wrong

Given the pathetic and embarrassing state of the SC football program...the crazier the story, the more believable it likely is. Swann and Helton are both overflowing with incompetence and doing their best imitations of dumb and dumber. This SC football offseason is so insane they could almost charge for tickets for this crap. It is like a circus freak show.

At least the SC BB team is showing signs of life! They've got a good streak going.

They gave Harrell "full control" of the offense.

The days of JT Daniels appear to be over.

I think USC would have been 8-4 with another QB last year.

I think JT can be very good in Air Raid, as was shown in the first half vs ND.
