    From Brett McMurphy:

"Sources told Stadium, Pac-12’s proposed 10th league game matchups:

    Arizona vs. Cal
    Arizona State vs. Stanford
    Colorado vs. Oregon State
    Oregon vs. Utah
    UCLA vs. Washington
    USC vs. Washington State

Pac-12 wants to add 1 game to original league schedule"

I would say that trading Alabama and Notre Dame for a Washington State team with a new coach transitioning to a new offense coming off a 6-7 season would be a slight net positive for the potential 2020 season record for USC.

But more than that, it's what it does to the South competition. Arizona State now has to play what should be an improved Stanford team (though Arizona State still has the benefit over USC in that USC misses Oregon State while Arizona State misses Washington).

Utah has to play Oregon (Utah misses Stanford).

UCLA has to play Washington (UCLA was going to miss Oregon and Washington)

Adding one game sounds like a bad idea at first glance. But I guess if they don't do that, then some teams would have only 4 home games.

They should just play a full round Robin and have one of everyone's games be a neutral site game - where revenues are split evenly.

Is it going to be a road game?

Should be a home game. USC's away games were scheduled at Stanford, Utah, Arizona, Oregon and UCLA. So unless they throw the entire schedule out and start completely over, changing home/road locations, USC would host Washington State, as well as the ones already scheduled against Arizona State, Cal, Colorado and Washington.

So...is there not going to be a national championship game?

Or will it just be played without the Big 10 and the Pac 12?

Oh great pass on an Alamaba high profile game to play another scrub breaking in a new coach.

Can't wait to watch this game. Was Fullerton JC busy that weekend?

When was the last time SC played Washington and Washington State at home in the same season? If ever?

1954, as far as I can tell.

USC beat Washington State 39-0 in the first game of the season and then beat Washington 41-0 later in the year. Both games at the Coliseum.

It hasn't happened in a long time, but it actually happened quite a bit in the past. 1952, 1946, 1941, 1939, 1935, 1934, 1933, 1931 and 1927 all featured USC games against Washington and Washington State in the Coliseum.

I was actually surprised to see how many times Washington State at USC has been the first game of the season for the Trojans. Saw a report that said it could happen this year as well.

Adding Washington state is not a good idea.
It would mean long travel for one team.
Another exposure to possible virus. game wouldn’t mean much.
Would not be watched by many viewers.
To get through present schedule is challenge enough

I agree. Wish they'd just play Notre Dame in the Coliseum.

I might need to borrow your way back machine some time Erik. These questions come up every so often...
