This thread isn't meant to get people to accept Reggie back or to defend what he did.

It is just to set the record straight.

Reggie did apologize for the harm he caused. He apologized to Pat Haden.

Pat wanted him to come talk to the team but obviously Reggie was banned from campus.

It may not have been the kind of apology everyone wants but he did apologize.

Cool, so if Osa Masina apologizes, we should be good with him again too?

An apology to the AD is not an apology. He did huge harm to this program with his greed.

?Nope....that doesn't cut it. He has to address the players and the players that followed him.
To us fans, to coll. Football to an extend. Now he's obviously embarrassed to come forward, but the more he waits the longer these feelings will tag along
    everybody that follows USC Football.

    Go F yourself reggie.

No, he didn't. This was clarified by Haden directly.

Didn't I remember reading on here where Reggie was supposed to be hosting a top recruit, Percy Harvin perhaps??? and he totally blew the kid off. That shows me how much he cared about the program.

Did you ever think you'd spend your day 11 years later worrying about Reggie Bush. Let it go...

    Reggie made a mistake.

It lead to a lot of stuff. Good and Bad.

We just won the Rose Bowl, finished 3rd AP in the nation with the toughest Schedule in college Football and we've got one hell of a Coach. One hell of a future.

With Out Reggie, we don't get Adoree and many other players. It was a great time with Reggie and he made a mistake. A Big one. Let it go.

We got a bunch of kids who will commit to play at USC for 4 years soon, and they don't need a bunch of USC fans not focused on whats important.

Getting to know the future, putting the past behind us and getting all in for USC. Future! Future Championships, future #1 Recruiting Classes, future domination of Pac 12. Buy USC football Placards for your cars, Stickers, get a big USC Cardinal Hoodie and sit court side of the Lakers games, the Clipper games,Field level at Dodger games. When you fly, where USC gear so the entire country knows whats up.

    I loved #5. Sucks what happened.(PAST)

I loved #2, Loved Stevie T, Love #80, Love Sammy D, Love our coaches, Love this Recruiting class, Love #45, love the fight and finish this team has....(THE FUTURE)

    FightON!

I'll never forget Reggie's 3-hr game vs. the Dodgers in 1977 (yeah, Yankee fan here, don't hate me).

All other Reggies are dead to me.

Reggie's apology everyone wants should begin like this:

Dear USC, Fans, alumni, et al,

Because I didn't want to throw my own Mother under the corrupt NCAA bus, this is my story as it happened...I hope you understand...

The window to apologize and for it to mean anything closed about 10 years ago.

Sorta qualified half-hearted measured mea-culpas are nothing more than weasel words. He should have come out and immediately fessed up. He could have thrown his parents under the bus (deservedly so) but he needed to own that he was part of the scheme.

He's never done so, so he's dead to me.

As soon as I read the title I knew this post was going to get a lot of differing view responses so I decided not to respond.

Facts mean nothing in todays world. So many have adopted the George Costanza philosophy of "if you believe it, its not a lie".

The cold hard "facts" are that Reggie Bush and his Family are guilty and their actions caused more damage to the USC Football program than any other person ever associated with the program.

This is pretty much a generational thing IMO.. Millenials posters who all have Reggie's exploits as their first memory of Trojan Football prettymuch give him a complete pass, while older people with a broader perspective say uh uh.

It's a moot point. If the NCAA didn't want to fuck us so bad that he had gotten say, the Cam Newton treatment, or even simply a just punishment that fit the crime, no one would care. If we didn't get hit so hard by the Paul Dee no one would hate him

Your opinion. A lot of people disliked him before we ever got the sanctions. Bottom line, without what he and his family did, there never would have been an investigation. Was it harsh yes, but bringing that up is like being a bank robbery that gets caught and then complaining you got 15 years when a guy that robbed the same bank the month before only got 5. Was it fair? Probably not, but don't rob banks and put yourself at the mercy of othere

I don't know if they are complete dirtbags. But no, neither Reggie, nor his parents, ever apologized to USC. Simple as that.
