I was looking back at old recruiting classes. Here are some players who left us via transfer (or other reason) from recent classes.

    2016: (out of 20 commits)
    Oluwole Betiku, 5 star DE
    Jack Jones, 5 star CB
    EJ Price, 4 star OL
    Jamel Cook, 4 star S
    Trevon Sidney, 4 star WR
    Josh Imatorbhebhe, 4 star WR
    Cary Angeline, 4 star TE
    Keyshawn Young, 3 star WR
    Velus Jones, 3 star WR

    2017: (out of 24 commits)
    Joseph Lewis, 5 star WR
    Bubba Bolden, 4 star S
    Levi Jones, 4 star LB
    Jack Sears, 4 star QB
    Randal Grimes, 3 star WR

    2018 (18 commits)
    Devon Williams, 4 star WR

Let me know if I missed any. At least it looks like we're keeping the players on campus at a higher rate than before...

    (3) 5*
    (9) 4*
    (3) 3*

My issue is not this year, but next. We literally are going to lose a huge amount of talent after this year, and have done virtually nothing to replace them. I wouldn’t be surprised if we finished 9-3 this year, and 3-9 in 2021.

9-3 in 2020...after 8-5? With a new DC, no Pittman, no experienced OTs...and Helton?

We play Alabama, @ Oregon, @Utah, UW, Notre Dame......

With the exceptions of Alabama and Notre Dame all of those other programs you listed are rebuilding. Washington will be breaking in a new coach which is never a guarantee it will work under a new regime. Oregon loses a ton of talent plus their All-World QB. I highly doubt Oregon makes another run at the CFP without an experienced Oline and QB like they had this past season. Utah will be losing a lot of starting experience as well as their QB. I believe USC has a chance to win the P12 with the amount of experience they have coming back.

6 wins in 2020 is about right .. maybe 7...
2021 it will be Kedon and the 84 dwarfs ...
Whoever said 3-9 may be close to the truth

Oregon will be better.......their recruiting hauls are starting to click, they will be stacked, their OL will have Sewell who just won the outland trophy for best lineman and Lauiu who was a #1 JC we lost lost year along with Tauanu'u and a number of other good players...the Defense will be even better than this year.....all their juniors returned, Thibo second year, Scott and add Sewell the lb, Flowe, Manning etc........UDUB will be good.....Peterson left them in good shape, good recruiting starting to click highlighted by a monster DL, Lake is a good coach........Az St better, systems and good coaches in place, their recruiting is starting to pay dividends......just stole a good tackle from Texas A&M on portal....their defense a year older....Utah is loaded with their type of 2 star player, OL much improved, just as an aside they just signed the #4 cornerback, stolen from Ohio State. ND will be good, excellent lines...... Bama....a better edition from last year.....not to mention Cal will be a challenge and even Colorado will be better......in two more years he is going to have Colorado in the hunt........ Stanford will be improved.....lost some folks to portal because there are better players coming on, except for Jovan Swan, who they will miss......their OL coach was a flake who went light but he was replaced and the heavy lines will be back this year with Little who returned leading.
The pac 12 is slowly getting better........no one wants to see it just like no one wanted to see Oregon rolling.
Good luck Helton.....with the OL we will have.

Been curious about this, thanks for posting. Why then, is this year’s class so small with all these losses?

Imagine how big the class would be if everyone stayed!

Let me tell you right now: 6 wins will be the most we’ll get next season.
Do you really think Slovis is mature enough to even be thinking about how weak his OTs will be? He will get shredded.

    We will lose to:

    Alabama
    ND
    Oregon

But with the returning talent we should be able to win the rest. That being said, we could drop a couple on poor game play.

It’s after next year that the state of the program will become evident.
