It would not be smart for any receiver to transfer with the Air Raid offense coming in.

Not surprised at all considering who is front of him and who USC has coming in the Spring & Fall. If he couldn't see the field this past season it's only going to get that much harder to get playing time with the depth at WR now.

Only if your chances of seeing the field are almost zero.

Bad move. Everybody at wideout gets their opportunity in the Air Raid offense. Maybe he's not very confident in his abilities.

    Agree, what’s a “good progress 2019 year” for him.......10-12 balls? Like 1 a game?

Athletic and talented, just not in a good place for him right now.

Unfortunately he had academic problems and often was rumored to have issues while on the team.

If he's not playing here with the paucity of talent in that position group, well, good luck at...Cal Poly?

The coaches tried with Randal but it just didn't work. They tried holding him out of practice, changing his number from 9 (the next JuJu?) to 87, they redshirted him this year but he still had issues. He also dealt with having two kids in his time at USC. He's a good athlete and I wish him well at his next stop.

    Garry,
Who's scouting these guys? Who's the director of scouting?

I chalk this one up to another miss. This is one area where they have to improve. The Coach Harvey Hyde often says. I don't blame the kid if they fail. I blame myself for misevaluating their talent. When was the last time you heard Clay Helton take responsibility like that? Something has to be done even if it means replacing or hiring more people to evaluate players. I dont think this is all coaching. I think it's a combination of not getting the right players and development. This year they were down to using True Freshman, walk-on's and converted offensive players. They wouldn't have to if they recruited better. They are good at getting the obvious players like Amon Ra and Daniel but everyone has a few stars the difference is going to be the role players. This is where you need to excel.

Example the Lakers. Look how quicky they turned things around with great draft picks the last few seasons. These guys can be used as trade pieces or developed. The draft or recruiting class will make or break you. I think they need to hire the best college football evaluators they can get to change the culture.

My first reaction was that, indeed, he could find success at a different program. But after reading this, I now believe he would benefit even more from grinding it out here and earning his degree at USC.

Garry just mentioned he had kids and starting a family. I was going to say I know he just had a child, so there is urgency for him to support his family. He’s doing what is best for his family and you cannot blame him. Good luck!

Maybe Saban will pay to relocate his family and give them jobs, lol. Short of that, I don’t see how going to a lesser school will do anything beyond boosting his stats. Hopefully he goes all Caleb Wilson and earns some NFL interest.

I agree with Cardinal and Gold.. poor recruiting on two levels .. assessment of talent and over recruiting of a position (wide receiver)
That makes 26 .. with 26 different excuses .. haven’t seen an Exodus like this since the Hebrews left Egypt 3500 years ago..
As they say history does repeat itself
