I found out yesterday one of my best friends, a retired Army Colonel, passed away from cancer. We knew each other for 40 years and share a lot of good times, golf and some wine and an occasional single malt scotch together. He lived out in Pinehurst and was a member there. He retired out of Ft. Bragg and stayed in the area. I visited him on several occasions and, of course, played Pinehurst. He was a joyful man and a great host. I got extra tickets to the Masters one year and took him down to it. It was on both our bucket lists. He would be 77 next month. It gets tougher when you see friends and loved ones dying around you. This one hit me pretty hard.

    Prayers given.

Jesus said, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

    You will be comforted.

col Bill. It's hard when good friends go . I offer up my prayers that your friend will find peace in eternity and you will be comforted in your sorrow. I'm mindful of what Gen MacArthur said; "old soldiers don't die, they just fade away".

Sincerest condolences for the loss of your long time friend. It is not easy saying goodbye to lifelong friends and relatives, who seem to be regularly leaving us, as we grow older.
