Pittman is very happy to have Carson Wentz at QB, but as of right now he is not willing to give up his jersey number.
Same thing happened in TB when Brady arrived and Godwin had number 12. Brady delivered and got Godwin a super bowl, not sure Wentz can make the same promise to Pittman. Interesting to see how that plays out!
    Fight On!

in the No Fun League you often get paid to give up a number. No reason just to surrender it - unless it's Tom Brady...

Carson Wentz is a nobody. He should have to pay to get a number.

Wentz said he (Wentz) would probably switch anyway....was just checking with Pittman.

With his career going downhill, he SHOULD switch it up....it’s just a number.

I love that Pittman told Wentz to pound sand. Fight on MP.

Let’s see how many times Wentz throws the ball to Pittman next year.

Yeah, that iconic Carson Wentz Number 11. How dare Pittman.

I thought that was customary in the NFL (since, unlike college teams, there are no duplicate jersey numbers - something I think is a definite improvement over colleges where you often have a dozen jersey numbers duplicated). If Wentz wants that #11 bad enough, he should offer to pay Pittman for it.

Other than intramural sports, I never had a jersey number that I considered "mine" and thus was superstitious about, but I know some athletes are that way, and wearing "their" number gives them a confidence boost or otherwise makes them feel more comfortable.

To my knowledge Wentz has worn #11 since college, while Pittman wore #6 at USC and in high school at Oaks Christian. I know wide receivers in the NFL are not allowed to wear single-digit numbers, but I would have figured #16 or #86 would be appropriate.

Whatever - Pittman should just name his price for the number, and if Carson wants it bad enough, he'll pony up the money.

Pittman was actually given No. 86 initially by the Colts, but he switched to No. 11.

Wentz is quickly getting the rep as a cancer in the locker room He needs to rehab that part of his game as well. That begins with taking whatever number is available.

    Rediculus.
Pittman is an employee. His boss will make the final decision. Unless there is a clause in his contract which I doubt.

When Pittman buys the team he can call the shots.

As a courtesy the owner may allow him to keep his number 11.

This is probably blown out of proportion. Pittman seems like a reasonable guy. I'm sure they will come to a reasonable and fair solution.

Wentz is also an employee, unless ownership shares in their franchise is now a standard part of a QB's compensation package. Pittman has seniority on the team, so Wentz should pay him if he wants to wear the #11.

I looked it up and it looks like Wentz wore #20 in high school. Rather unusual, but are QBs allowed a number higher than #19 in the No Fun League?
