I thought it was a bad strategy by Southgate after the first score, they needed to be more balanced rather than stepping back and looking for quick counter attacks. Either way, England was gassed by end of regulation, Croatia had a lot more bounce. Good showing by England though, they’ll get a hero’s welcome for the most part.

I guess it's just Croatia's date with destiny......first appearance was 1998, 20 years later in the Title game.... A country of 4.3 million people....who woulda thunk? BlueBlood likes this.

MUCH rather lose to Croatia (who was clearly the better team in last part of regulation and 2nd ot) than Germany France or Brazil. Really hope they can shock the world on Sunday. Their captain is super-human. England will be back in two years to win the Euro Cup. Come on England!!!

Seeing all players respecting their national anthems makes me ashamed of our nfl players. Are those countries perfect? Do they have social problems? Yet they still don't have a problem with the song. Okay, let's see how the argue for argument's sake people reply.

That area is a hot bed of elite soccer, basketball and tennis talent. Some interesting history is that both Croatia and Serbia (who also made the World Cup this year), were a part of the combined country of Yugoslavia . . . which made the quarterfinals of the World Cup back in 1990. For those who believe that the weather along the California coast is the reason we produce so many athletes, because they can play all year round, you should take a look at the Croat coastline... year round sun and fun in and along the Adriatic coastline. Hmmmmm

I am curious to see if the 19 year old Mbappe can deliver on the biggest stage. He was great against Argentina, looking every bit like the future superstar he was advertised to be. But in the next 2 games he didn't do much and had some terrible flops that resulted well deserved yellow cards. I will be rooting for Croatia. If they win it will probably be the biggest upset winner since Uruguay beat host nation Brazil in 1950 WC final.
