These guys are solid. Now I would be skeptical when the the primary source Is Brooks (Fancred) and Adam Maya.

 

Texas recruited a lot of DEs in 18 and 19, tweeners, guys that can drop in coverage.

 

They had a pass rusher who was being dropped in coverage all the time. Joseph Ossai. Should have had close to double digit sack numbers.
You don't drop DEs in coverage to blitz safties all the time.

Not a great defense to attack the pass with.
Much better against the run. Reason it looked good against Georgia.

To attack the pass you need players playing the 5i.
That is the 5 technique. Outside of the tackle

Especially if you have an offense who puts up points.
Teams aren't running the ball when they are behind.


I think we need someone more versatile.

If Helton leaves Orlando on an island like he does with Graham Harrell then our defense will be much improved... even if Orlando sucks. No one wanted to play for Pendergast this season. Even BKU bailed on USC because of Clancy being around
