He was raw, then injured while here. We evidently fixed his hip for him.....

Doesn’t sound like he is raw or injured any more. Lovie Smith just knows defense and how to teach it better than Clancy. Would love to have Oluwole back rushing the QB for us.

He’s doing what Our defense desperately needs. Wished he was still here.

Is this going to be like an annuity? We are going to get an update weekly?

Fisher Investments says annuities suck, and constantly posting about a kid that doesn’t play for USC, and worse yet chose to leave is about the same.

I wouldn’t mind having Lovie Smith.

Before Wole's transfer and even with him not figuring in their plans, it was reported that USC was not going to go after 5-star, #1 ranked Thibodeaux this past year since they felt they were set with edge rushers. There were also other issues involved in making that call, but given the lack of a meaningful pass rush so far this year, it shows, as does Wole's emergence at Illinois, just how poorly USC is at evaluating the talent they have on-hand.

Probably worth mentioning that Illinois has played 2 of the worst teams in FBS. If SC played UConn and Eastern Michigan, would anyone actually put any stock in whatever stats were amassed against them? My guess is we’d want to wait and see what happens against competent opponents. Maybe Wole is in fact a stud pass rusher and another example of SC’s coaching incompetence. I don’t think you can draw that conclusion based off 2 games against 2 of the worst teams in college football.

Really happy for Wole that he’s getting playing time and performing, but the schedule is definitely playing a part. Will be interesting to see what his numbers look like after Illinois goes Nebraska, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin coming up for their next four games. Hope he can keep it up.

Just to add to that....he spent what, 2-3 years at USC? Surely he developed somewhat in that time, and as such, I don't think all the credit goes to his new team. I'm not saying the USC staff coached him up 100%, just adding on that there are a few variables here to consider.

    Really? How so?

I would think Barney Fife would be an upgrade on D.

For all those that said he hasn't played anyone yet and wait until he goes against better teams. Well.

This week they played Nebraska (3-1) who's only loss was to Colorado In overtime (3-1) who Beat ASU who Beat USC last season. You get my point.

Wole got yet another Sack and played well. He still leads the Nation in Sacks with (7) tied with Chase Young of Ohio State who could be a 1st rounder.

Put me on record saying this.

None of Stanford, Fresno, or Utah will be top 25 teams this year at the end of the season.

Can we send our 4* and 5* recruits to other schools to be coached up and then bring them back for their 3rd and 4th years to play for us? Think of it like a Mormon mission. lol

Maybe we have to start a Mase Funa post..The rising Freshman LB Star from Mater Dei now with Oregon has 3 sacks in 4 games.

    48 Mase Funa Oregon Fr. LB 4 3 0 21 3.0 .75

Why not? Lets sticky his thread, Wole’s thread, and Urban Meyer’s threads. I simply cannot open this site right now, knowing there is the faintest chance those 3 topics may have aged onto the 2nd page. My hand trembles at the thought.

Don’t care what you all say about his competition, I’m happy for his success and I’m confident he’ll make it to the NFL.
