2020 OL Myles Murao (Mater Dei) just announced his commitment to Washington. Huge miss for USC and another big recruiting win for Washington.

Yikes...I'm speechless. USC having trouble keeping some big name Mater Dei kids home. Especially CB'S and OL.

With him projecting at C, wondering if he saw potentially 2+ years behind our current group...

This is a huge miss. We can’t land blue chip OL guys from our own backyard at all anymore. What are we in the past 2 years???? 1 for 15

Both Brett and Justin were the #2 OC in their recruiting class. We are looking good 2 deep. It’s a good chance he will be waiting for at least 2 years unless he switches to OG

While the optics of losing a player of this caliber from our #1 feeder school looks bad, I agree that if Myles had his heart set at playing Center, it could take a while to break into the starting lineup with Brett and Justin ahead of him. I don't think losing this commitment hurts nearly as bad as losing a commitment from Elias Rick's hurts or how devastating losing Bryce Young would hurt.

This whole class revolves around securing Young on offense and Flowe on defense. As long as we can secure commitments from these two players, the rest will be great. Although I sure would love to flip Rick's to see him paired with OG, IT and Steele.

I have a crazy, good feeling about the O Line commits we already have as I feel we can coach up their natural size and athleticism and turn them into some great players in the next few years with AA keeping them in check in his program.

It seems like Washington and Oregon and others have taken over Southern Cal recruiting.
    Have to turn that around.

No. Helton hasn't done his job well. Not just one losing season. Bad player development and bad position coaches is just a start to his bad coaching. I don't have the time to go over what the recruits are seeing and some fans are refusing to admit.

Stunning. Wasn't Murao leaning to SC for a long time?

As I said, as long as we hold on to Young and get a commitment from Flowe (and pray to the recruiting gods we can flip Ricks), we're in a no lose situation this season. If Helton turns things around and we have a great season (minimum 9 wins), recruits will come back as we'll be on the path to success again. If Helton fails and we start off slow out of the gates, he's gone by mid season along with Swann by the end of the season and the new President will hire a new, more competent AD who will hopefully hire a new coach that at least will bring some new blood and energy to the Program for the start of the 2020 season.

It's also important not to forget that Myles will have Bryce in his ear all season long trying to flip him to protect him at USC as well as Bru and ASB. It's not over till he's signed and even then it might not be over....see Bru McCoy and Chris Steele.

    Fight On!

It’s early and as others have said. Our season rides on our w/l record and that also goes with recruiting. If we win we win the recruiting battles if not ......

He could only have been considered a lean if he wanted to play guard. And from all accounts he believes his future lies at center. The Trojans currently have three centers on the roster, and playing earlier rather than later was a main consideration as well as program stability.

Flowe isn’t a lock at all. I think if her choose the west coast he is SC’s to lose. However, right now it’s a growing feeling that he will leave the west coast/PAC-12 all together and go SEC. if SC wins 9-10 games and looks really competitive in those 1-2 losses....I think Flowe could choose to stay at SC. Same can be said for quite a few highly rated guys.

For what it’s worth, i think the Mauro commitment is all about early playing time
