I really hope you are right. But even if you are, it’s still Helton’s job to get it fixed, and he hasn’t been doing it. Hopefully Orlando brings the tackling and more physical practices.

Another Texas football professional is sucked into the Trojan coaching cadre by Helton. What is it with all these Texans migrating to SoCal to find work If Orlando's so good why was he fired by Tom Herman ? If he's not good enough for Texas how is he good enough for USC ? How is USC going to rise to be CFP competent when they are coached by rejects who couldn't cut the mustard where they were.

Who are we going to hire that’s better? I mean there are guys out there that have better recent histories, haven’t been fired, etc., but of those, who could we actually get to leave their current position to come to USC under the current circumstances?

The good ones get away. Who's fault is that ? USC will be stuck where they are as long as they 're led by Texas rejects.

I know snd it doesn't tend to give me confidence in Orlando. When you're fired from a job it usually means the H.C doesn't think you're doing a good job. So why do you want a guy like that ? How about hiring someone that has been doing a good job. You'll pay more bu get what you pay for. Orlando is an el cheapo hire. USC is not laying out the money it takes to have a good football staff and we see the result.

Well, with your condition of hiring a DC who has never been fired SC’d would still be without a DC. Also, you better tell Cal they hired the wrong HC cuz he was fired, I can go on, but you get the point

Wilcox was fired by Helton, a guy who doesn't necessarily know a good coach when he sees one.

Careful, your antiHelton bias is showing. As I said, I can name several, but, what would really be the point. May you never be fired in your job.

I have no anti-Helton bias. I have a Pro-USC bias. I don't care who the HC is as long as he keeps USC in contention for the CFP.

The problem with Helton is he is a politician and a used car salesman.
USC needs a coach who is a coach.
Helton cannot make in game adjustments. He just doesn't seem to inspire.
He is learning and trying but if at least he is a ok manager he will help himself.
He has to look in the mirror and decide whether he is a coach or a politician.
