Official game thread - USC - UW

Last fifteen years, USC has:

2004 National Championship
2005 #2 in the polls
2006 Rose Bowl win
2008 Rose Bowl win
2017 Rose Bowl win

So in the last 15 years, USC has more National Championships than Oregon has in their entire football program existence!

 

Some of us said that last week after the Utah game!

 

Not going to happen without an AD.

 

Truth be told Fink is nowhere near a SC caliber quarterback. He’s a walk on at best that should never see the field. Utah game please, you know the saying about a broken clock. No wonder Kedon beat out this clown. Anyone from the peanut gallery if given enough time can sling one up to #6. I’d rather have a true dual threat that can at least strike fear with his legs if can’t throw accurate consistently.

 

Like Fink, Helton does what he can, which isn’t much.

 

These guys, along with Drake J will lead the Trojans back to the Holy Land. 4 future All PAC conference players right there. Potentially 3 future All Americans. All will be earning paychecks on Sundays.

 

Welp, no drop off with the QB production. Slovis sucked in his last complete game he played and now Fink sucked. What the hell? Drake is 6'5"! Throw the god damn ball where only he can high point the catch. Fink was throwing passes to Drake like he was 5'9"! What a waste of height advantage. If you're not going to let Drake maximize his advantage then get the damn ball to Pittman. Sheesh, a clean game and USC wins this one. They shot all of their own toes off!

 

One thing I can say today is, the d line did pretty good today, except that long run. The o is not what Helton and Co made it out to be...

 

Hey, Fink and Slovis were just fine playing off instincts, when thrown to the fire. Using their raw talents and making plays.

It's when Helton got involved and "prepared" these guys are when they failed miserably.

Both looked awful once they spent all week with Helton getting these guys game ready.

Both QB's might as well stare at the video/score board, mouth gaping open, holding on to headset, deer in headlights, clueless look that Clay gives all game long.

Please. Enough already.

Without elite players, 5* kids like Hufanga, Griffin, Darnold, or heroic efforts from back up QB's in the moment, including Darnold, Helton is a joke.

Now, he is recruiting 2 & 3 star guys.

No player to save him or Clancy. We have been fortunate with Hufanga and Co., who have been our saving grace.

No more.

Gonna get ugly unless we cut ties soon.

 

Here's the sad thing...I barely feel anything anymore. Under the Pete Carroll years, any loss was devastating because we were in the hunt for National Championships. From Kiffin to Sark to Helton, they have drained this program of any lifeblood, any semblance of what we were in the past.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

USC needs the courage to break with him...fire him...and bring in a new regime that understands fundamentals, knows how to coach up players, knows in-game management, knows tactics! Helton should have never been hired and we are shedding recruits. Let's make the change already!

Thought the D played well, all things considered. The DL and the DBs are playing well, LBers had a better game today than prior games as well.

 

Even announcers said #30 Stepps has to be on the field on that goal line series. Instead a handoff to VM and then a QB run. And to top of the sh*t sundae, a low percentage far corner fade on 4th down.

USC had to score a TD there. No excuses to not get it done.

Dumb play calling by GH. He's no offensive guru....

 

What 2* players are on the roster? And what 2* players have given a verbal to Helton?

 

Really happy to see the team stick together. I was worried about a blowout and a quitting on each other worst case scenario. For a team with absolutely no chance of winning SC played really well.

It is the sentiment posted that Helton can still turn it around. Please go back to your ruin board and pump your BS sunshine there. This board is sick of it.
