Stanford had 4 sacks, 2 interceptions and 1 forced fumble/recovery; we had 0.

And 11 pass breakups to our 4.

Offensive game plan sucked with 11 wonderlic, but defense didn’t record any game changing stats either.

The defense's main job is to keep the other team from scoring. For the most part, they did that. I wish they could have created some big turnovers, but I'm not complaining about that. The offense on the other hand stunk. Tee Martin has to go.

Stanford had 13 first downs. That is great defense.

Oline was the main problem tonight. Couldn't protect when they were only rushing 4 and couldn't protect at all against the blitzes or D- line schemes. Receivers never got open cause they had 7 guys to cover. Should have ran more inside slant routes vs. running quick hitches or back shoulder. Stanford was ready for those. Even my 7 year old kid called the inside handoff's on 3rd and short. So predictable these play calls were. Got to make serious adjustments this week or game vs Texas is gonna be really ugly. Stanford crowd was not a factor at all tonight but Texas next week is gonna be deafening. Fight On!

Stanford O goes into safe mode very early ... this smallish soft D is going to get torched by aggressive Os
There is nothing good about this poorly led team.

Stanford could have scored 30-40 if they needed to, All they had to do is pass more.

The front seven are moderately good....the secondary is mediocre at best.

Offense is so bad right now!
Why is every defense we play so well prepared?? Our offense is getting out coached out schemed it's obvious Feel bad for our players.
Bad offense will affect the defense

stanford was held to 17 points. what? does our defense need to hold other teams to 14 points or less because our inept OC and coaching staff can't realistically score more than 21 points on a great day?

Stanford stopped themselves a few times with penalties that negated first downs in USC territory after good gains.
Without penalties, Stanford puts the game away earlier with a couple more scores.

    USC played average defense.

Playing their slow footed receivers 10-12 yards off the long will get you killed every time!

Except that it was ridiculous to say the first time...why you would repeat it is hard to imagine.

If you have played football you should know a defense giving up 17 points is not very good. We have an average defense mostly due to secondary and lack of pressure on QB. When our LB are blitzing they are always runnning into the OL. They need to get thru quicker and avoiding being blocked.

You mean god gains caused by holding? Um that's kinda the reason they got the gains in the first place. Our D played great considering the O did them no favors.
