I always sort of liked UT and the Vols, but it must be excruciating to be a true Tennessee fan these days. They've been very bad for more than a decade. As much as we Trojans gripe, our woes are relatively recent.

 

I think the program went down when Fulmer took over as AD. It is a sad sign when even their own kids turn on the players!
I actually think the AD hire will turn things around if he can also bring in a good coach, but the damage is done and it is is going to be a massive cleanup project. Rumor are flying about bringing back Kiffen or even Bill O’Brien who has experience with troubled programs.

There are a whole host of reasons why Tennessee struggles at football these days, but overall they are competitive and a top school for many sports, so I wouldn't knock Fulmer too much here.

It looks like Tennessee is finalizing a deal with Clemson's Tony Elliot. If I was a Vol. fan I would love that hire.

 

And to think Jeff Fisher was campaigning for the job. He even lined up his coaching staff. Except White never called him. I love that hire, Dabo now has to find his next OC. I hope Bohn is that creative when Helton departs!

I just read Josh Heupel is the leading candidate, but I did read previously there was interest in Tony Elliot!

Interesting read, now that Josh Heupel has been hired, he is bringing in his own staff. That means Kevin Steele that was hired 2 weeks ago at $900K will probably be let go and they will have to pay Steele’s full salary. The alumni must be pissed.
Another article by Peerless Price says Tee Martin is devastated and heartbroken that he did not get the head coaching job at Tennessee. Now with his contract expiring on the 31st, he may also be out of a job!
