One of the problem of arm/shoulder issues is loss of consistency(control). Even after recovery from operations, consistency /control are often the last things to re-master. Game to game, Quarter to quarter you saw different versions of Slovis last year.

2019 slovis was lethal and nearly always within the catch zones; 2020 so many balls were no where near the zone. Outside of the Oregon game Slovis had sufficient times.

Interesting how USC has all these supposed world class Hospitals but yet her athletes take forever to heal/recover. What gives, are they not using these facilities to help these players?
Are they sending them to general hospital? Ops, that's right USC runs/owns General. RIGHT?

For what possible reason would we think the USC running game is going to improve? It lost its best RB and best OL. There is no great RB coming in and the replacements at OL are probably three stars. The frosh QB's will be running for their lives, after Slovis is injured on his 56th pass in the first game of the season.

One more thing--the hidden cost to passing all the time is the inevitable injury to the quarterback. It's going to happen, probably even with a great offensive line. It's going to happen several times a season with an average offensive line. Think of it this way--no one would think of running a great tailback 40-45 times per game. He wouldn't last the season. While the positions aren't similar, it is equally stupid to have your quarterback drop back and pass 45 times a game. He won't last. Daniels and Slovis have proven that in spades in the last two years.

Look on the bright side: we can have running plays once Slovis gets knocked out injured.

I imagine Slovis and Warner talk about what taking so many hits does to your brain and body.
If you are a possible top QB taken in the NFL draft why would you stay at USC and subject yourself to repeated hits in a one dimensional offense?

It has all been said....I feel sorry for Slovis.....It is obvious that his arm or shoulder was injured the previous year and did not recover completely. Who knows what compounded injury occurred against Oregon. Helton should be prosecuted for criminal assault for running an incompetent offense. We all know there is a big difference between a sack by a guy just barely getting to you and someone that hits you going full steam. Some of those hits on Slovis were jarring. Unfortunately a great deal of what we post here turns out to be very accurate. As for next year.....no change......unless Harrell leaves......stand there and get beat on. Barring two miracle transfers, our tackles will be scary. We have to assume our starter next year will be a freshman or someone who has physical problems. Compounded with an OL that has problems, less Vera and a running attack that does not target overly aggressive rushers........yup......can't understand why we are not in the playoffs....we're so close. Sorry I'am starting to dream of smashing Helton in the mouth for all the kids he has ruined.
Just another example.....Falo should be in the pros.

Looking for ways to be even more pass-happy is not the ‘improvement’ I’m looking for.

Hate to revisit this situation but that shoulder/elbow has an injury. Something is very not right, I feel so sorry for the kid.
Dart/Moss opportunity could be here sooner than you thought.
