Not a great day so far for the prospect of a fall season ErikMcKinney Administrator Staff Member Joined: Apr 17, 2018 Messages: 4,273 Likes Received: 10,620 Aug 8, 2020 #1 The Mid-American Conference announced this morning that it will postpone all fall sports to the spring. That isn’t necessarily going to affect the Power 5 conferences, but it isn’t insignificant. The Big Ten then announced that schools cannot proceed past the two-day acclimatization period, telling programs that they must remain in helmets at this time. This statement in the announcement feels fairly ominous: “We understand there are many questions regarding how this impacts schedules, as well as the feasibility of proceeding forward with the season at all. As we have consistently stated, we will continue to evaluate daily, while relying on our medical experts, to make the best decisions possible for the health, safety and wellness of our student-athletes.” The Big Ten has put itself in a bit of a bind by starting the season in early September, though I believe that it, like the Pac-12, built early games into the schedule that can be postponed. gubo&palanka, Troy70 and Rodgarnay51 like this.
