Tech's Divine Oduduru with a 19.73 in the 200 broke the NCAA record, #2 in the world right now, and 2nd fastest ever by a collegiate runner. Grimes in the 400H put up the #5 time in the world. Tech showed up today. Wow. USC Women looked good today. 8 individuals and 2 relay teams to the finals tomorrow. Fight On!

They were never in the hunt (not enough bodies). Women should do well though it’s tough competition tomorrow. Not having any field eventers is a concern. It could be the difference of winning or not. aimeedee and yah20002 like this.

Their time is also No. 1 in the world. Great start to the day! Other notes on USC's 4x100m win: It was USC's second title at the NCAA Championships in the event (2000) and the fastest time ever in the finals, beating LSU's 42.25 set last season.

In an almost complete reversal from last year when we won the 4x4 to clinch the title.... USC Track & FieldVerified account @USC_Track_Field USC's 4x400m relay team of Lear, Constantine, Cockrell & Roberts finished 8th after the baton came loose with about 100m left on the 3rd leg & USC in good position. USC ended up with a time of 3:35.55 to earn a point & finish 2nd overall in the team standings w/57 points. I wanna cry.

Thanks for explanation. I would assume that if they had of won that race they would have won the title? Tough break! But, great year for the woman.

We only needed to finish one spot ahead of them, winner or otherwise. That said, it would have been close. They finished with 3:25:89. USC had the fastest qualifying time yesterday but haven't run a 3:25 anything this season. Still, all teams leave something in the tank and we were in a good spot in that 3rd leg. trackdude may come along and correct me though. dbw021 likes this.

This was a tight 4x4 and they very well could have run a 3:25, but geez-a-loo hold on to the stick. I watch the replay and there was contact but I don’t know how the baton came loose.
