Texas Tech wraps up the men's title. No Ducks! Lol. Tech's Divine Oduduru with a 19.73 in the 200 broke the NCAA record, #2 in the world right now, and 2nd fastest ever by a collegiate runner. Grimes in the 400H put up the #5 time in the world. Tech showed up today. Wow.

USC Women looked good today. 8 individuals and 2 relay teams to the finals tomorrow. Fight On!

Tech really did show up. I’m disappointed our men didn’t do better. They were never in the hunt (not enough bodies). Women should do well though it’s tough competition tomorrow. Not having any field eventers is a concern. It could be the difference of winning or not.

USC's 4x100m relay team of Brissett, Annelus, Thomas & Terry wins the NCAA title with a school and facility record of 42.21! Their time is also No. 1 in the world. Great start to the day!

Other notes on USC's 4x100m win: It was USC's second title at the NCAA Championships in the event (2000) and the fastest time ever in the finals, beating LSU's 42.25 set last season.

People who know track, know you don't kill mojo by thinking it's looking good.

In an almost complete reversal from last year when we won the 4x4 to clinch the title....

USC's 4x400m relay team of Lear, Constantine, Cockrell & Roberts finished 8th after the baton came loose with about 100m left on the 3rd leg & USC in good position. USC ended up with a time of 3:35.55 to earn a point & finish 2nd overall in the team standings w/57 points.

    I wanna cry.

Shoot! I was looking at results on line and was shocked to see that USC finished 8th. Thanks for explanation. I would assume that if they had of won that race they would have won the title? Tough break! But, great year for the woman.

Arkansas finished with 64 points, got 8 in the 4x4 so going in, we had 56 and they had 56. We only needed to finish one spot ahead of them, winner or otherwise. That said, it would have been close. They finished with 3:25:89. USC had the fastest qualifying time yesterday but haven't run a 3:25 anything this season. Still, all teams leave something in the tank and we were in a good spot in that 3rd leg.

trackdude may come along and correct me though.

Heartbreaking way to lose the relay, but still impressive to finish second after all that. Fight on!

You’re spot on vball, we were in a good place. This was a tight 4x4 and they very well could have run a 3:25, but geez-a-loo hold on to the stick. I watch the replay and there was contact but I don’t know how the baton came loose.

It's beyond comprehension. I feel SO bad for all of them. This is the memory that will replay in their heads for years. And so brutal after last year's insane finish. Never let go of the stick.

Thanks for the follow up. I got to watch tape of the race. Heartbreaking for the lady who dropped the baton. I would have loved to have seen the finish without the drop.

It looks like when she started to stumble that someone came past her and knocked out the stick. Just a sad and tough situation.

Exactly! You just don’t see that kind of crowding in a 4x4 on the 3rd lap. Could have been another race for the ages.
