Finals begin next Wed. Here's the best LINK to have. Everything is there, schedule, heat sheets, live results, etc.

Looks like Espin will televise all four days. Will they continue to show head on shots of the jumps where you get no perspective of distant. Will they focus on one runner during a race which is like watching paint dry. Will they show only the winner crossing the finish line and then have a closeup of that person and never see what the other runners did? Will they stay on the 5,000 and 10,000 meter races all the way through and not switch to the field events to see those results? I'll answer my own questions and say yes to all.

In all the years watching track on the tube, I've rarely, if ever, seen a track and field event televise like it should be. Rant over------

No, you're correct. The thing is you can't televise a track meet. TV is the worst medium to use. Races are easy, but field events require dedicated feeds. Oddly, if anyone could do it right it would be espn because they could provide alternate channels to watch the field events. The only time we get good T&F coverage is during the Olympics where they do stream the field events.

I have looked at the program listing and have no NCAA Track and Field Championship listed on any espn channel. Am I missing something here??

Yeah, that shutout in the hurdles was unexpected. But everything else is about right.

My son has just picked up a passion for track and the 400 is his race. What a treat to see a Trojan break the record.

Unbelievable. Rai Benjamin just tied Edwin Moses for the second fastest 400 M hurdles EVER on a wet track. New collegiate, meet, and track record. 2018 world best. We have to greatest track tradition of any university and it continues.

Norman is a beast. I thought the Auburn runner was closing until Norman down shifted. If he stays healthy, he's a future gold medalist.

Outstanding overall finish for the men's team by placing fourth in the nation. Went into the meet as the 9th ranked team in the nation. Only missed placing third by one point. The winner of the private university championship. Just 5 more scholarships and the other schools would need Depends.

Still trying to verify Benjamin's status for the remainder of the year. I know he's not eligible for the USATF meet in a couple weeks, but I believe he *is* eligible for other competitions that don't involve national teams.
Sometime this month, the IAAF is supposed to meet to address the questions of nationality changes. It's anyone's guess what they're going to do, but the frustrating part is that the changes were being made to prevent Kenyans from being "hired" by the emirates, and Benjamin, who just desires to compete for the country he's lived in almost his while life, is caught up in it.

It was a pretty awesome meet. 4th overall seems like first when you look at the records.

T-dude....I know you'd appreciate this. Over spring break my daughter and I toured the SEC. At Florida, we took the regular tour and then got a personal expanded tour from Marcel Carter, former SEC champ in the 200 and part of a very good US 4x100 team back in the 90's. He's still in touch with Q and he could not have been more helpful. Nothing as amazing as the Track community.
