These moves Bohn is making are at best useless and arguably destructive. AMLTrojan and 4thamp1 like this.

This year USC has 16 four and five star recruits this year and Alabama has 20. Both teams get enough of them to have four and five star players two deep.

Helton and Harrell, with all of their watching and learning of football over the last couple of decades, came away realizing that they can win by passing on every play and the running game doesn't matter at all.

Loading up on finesse players and ignoring needs like the Oline ended up with last year desperately grabbing a ton of Oline that were more work in projects. We also know Helton’s program does not develop his players. He loaded up on many elite 4 and 5 finesse players knowing that he could only put 3 to 4 max players on the field. Again, it helped our rankings, but lots of them realized their minimal playing time and transferred through the portal. Star ratings are important, but just as important are need and fit. There is no point to drafting 4 or 5 high star wideouts each year when you NEED high star Oline. Sooner or later that catches up with your program. Class rankings are overrated with Helton. Yes thankfully we got Korey, but our need was getting high star Oline especially the California kids and we failed to recruit those kids resulting in Drevno’s departure. We also should have gone hard after another running back, with the possibility of Vavae or Carr leaving. Because of the Air Raid, Markese left through the portal. Again, if Vavae or Carr leaves, that would leave us with only Christon and Brandon, the one lone running back we recruited. Again, poor draft execution. There is definitely no comparison with Helton and Saban and we are not even talking about on field coaching! Fight On!
