    Actually Chris, the tarmac "recreation" will in fact be a practice run for the inevitable coup d'etat of the resident incompetent HC. It's important that it runs smooth, without having to review more film and make the necessary corrections. 2020 will be here soon enough.

    I would have added the DB's under things I'm looking forward to this season.

    I can't wait to see OG, IPM, ITS, Hufanga and Johnson. I want some damn interceptions this year.

    17 days and counting...

    "There are some things in life you can’t unsee,"
    .

    This article was going really well until I read this. Then all those things in my life that I can't unsee came flooding back into my mind like the song "It's A Small World After All".
    Other than that, I really enjoyed this piece.
    However, imho Mike Giroux is Fresno State's top living (sports related) alum.

    Sometimes it feels like you can feel the mood of the author in their style. A previous article I made the remark, “who pissed in your cornflakes “. For those who aren’t familiar with that phrase, it simply means that it sounds like you started your day a little rough. For this article I have to say it sounds like you just got laid (can I say that?).

    Fun to read.

    Loved the analogy of the casual fan and the Toni Romo “Esque” playcalling last year. That was pretty funny, but very true.
    But on a serious note, even if Drevno is or was a good coach, Helton retaining Callaway for so long, really deteriorated the Oline position in both the skill level and depth. I kind of related it to cars where you have the Porches and Ferrari’s in the garage, but no where to go because you don’t have road graders to pave the road.
    All I can remember was last season our Oline was getting pancaked 3 or 4 yards behind the LOS. We could not convert on 3rd and short, and the conversion on our 4th and short was anemic.
    Like you said, one will have to wait and see, but you are correct on one thing, there is only one direction to go and it should be up!
    Fight On!

    Can't get that song out of my head now, and before I could stop myself I thought of the Pillsbury Dough boy!

    Yes you would think the QB competition should be cut to Sears and Daniels.
    And a starter named ASAP.
    Especially with a new offense

    There is no QB competition. There never is, when there's an incumbent starter. Is CCH wasting valuable reps by pretending it's a 4-way tie?

    We have seen Helton's unquestioned sense of fairness and loyalty get in the way of winning.

    Great article Chris. Agree with everything, especially the QB competition. And LOL at Lane Kiffin day. Soon we will have Steve Sarkisian and Clay Helton days too.

    For Sark day, the Coli should start selling booze on gamedays again.

    I don’t know. I do know that pretty much everyone was screaming for legitimate competition at every position, including QB, and that the best player should play, whether it be a freshman or senior.

    Great entertainment Chris. My favorite parts;

    "grinding out a first down in order to drain the clock and preserve a win." I wonder if Hellton finally learned this lesson or this is GH...

    And of course the Aug 31 honors were almost hilarious.

    perhaps a mean looking helicopter that beats itself to death;
