We definitely need to go to an eight-team system. To keep it fair and equitable, here's what I propose:

    - Bama is automatically the top seed.
    - The SEC runner-up gets the next seed.
    - Third seed is a play-in game, between the SEC West runner-up and the top-ranked Powerless 5 team (this year would've been Cincinnati).
    - Next four slots go to the ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten champs, plus Notre Dame.
    - The last spot goes to winner of a play-in game between the Pac-12 champ and the Bama scout team.

Fair. Balanced. Just. Equitable. These are the words that come to mind for my proposed system. Can anyone improve upon this proposal?

I think the Alabama Spring game should be a semi-final, at least.
