More competitive CFB playoff system AMLTrojan Junior Member Joined: Aug 24, 2017 Messages: 1,585 Likes Received: 1,821 Jan 13, 2021 #1 We definitely need to go to an eight-team system. To keep it fair and equitable, here's what I propose: - Bama is automatically the top seed. - The SEC runner-up gets the next seed. - Third seed is a play-in game, between the SEC West runner-up and the top-ranked Powerless 5 team (this year would've been Cincinnati). - Next four slots go to the ACC, Big 12, and Big Ten champs, plus Notre Dame. - The last spot goes to winner of a play-in game between the Pac-12 champ and the Bama scout team. Fair. Balanced. Just. Equitable. These are the words that come to mind for my proposed system. Can anyone improve upon this proposal? Gilesmiles, JImmytheGreek and Peete2Affholter like this.
