The USC men's and women's track and field teams will begin the indoor season at the Washington Indoor Preview Meet on Jan. 18 in Seattle, Washington. The meet is set to begin at 8 a.m.
The Trojans are expected to place more emphasis on the indoor season than in the past and it all begins this weekend. USC is expected to compete in five regular season meets, as well as the MPSF Championships and the NCAA Indoor Championships, this year hosted by New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. on March 14-15.
"We are going to try to place as high as possible at the Indoor NCAA Championships with both our men's and women's teams. That is the goal," said USC Director of Track and Field Caryl Smith Gilbert.
This weekend the Trojans are sending a women's team consisting of Lauren Blackburn, Charity Bruce, Melia Cox, Jessica Davis, Alexis Faulknor, Tynia Gaither, Vanessa Jones, Loudia Laarman, Ashley Liverpool, Akawkaw Ndipagbor, Oluwakemi Olonade, Cameron Pettigrew, Jenna Puterbaugh, Jaide Stepter and Jenna Tong. The USC men traveling to Washington will be Myles Andrews, Aaron Brown, Aleec Harris, BeeJay Lee, Jovante Slater and Allen Williams.

The indoor season kicks off 1/18/14 in Seattle. USC is sending a large contingent of Lady Trojans (15) to the meet. The men are sending 6. Concentrating on the sprints, 800, hurdles and possibly the TJ.

Aaron Brown and Beejay Lee in the sprints, Myles Andrews in 800 and Aleec Harris in hurdles.

Allen Williams may run hurdles or TJ or both. Jovante Slater will probably compete in the LJ. though he has a sprinter background.

We both sent our posts at the same time. Did you get the same e-mail from Russ that I did?
