I now believe our QB competition was real and we had 4 really good QBs..

I think I'd rather see Slovis still at this point, but Fink played his ass off tonight

I agree. Matt’s a gamer and is the best runner/scrambler of the group. JT and Slovis are better pure passers and faster at progressing through reads. Slovis put up quite a few 50/50 balls that went our way in his 2.5 games so far as well.

I’m just glad we had 3 good QB’s to start the season. This game could have been very different if our 3rd string QB couldn’t be trusted to throw the ball, as is often the case when thrown into a game.

Biggest difference I notice between Slovis and Matt is the arm strength. Slovis just has more zip on his ball.

That's why i like the air raid. QB and WR friendly which are the strength of USC and takes pressure off the line where USC is weak, unless they start recruiting that from the south or midwest.

Well Harrell did say his offense is pretty simple when he was hired. It took 3 days to install. Maybe we should also be thankful we have Harrell as our OC!

Not to take anything away from Fink but Utah has the absolute worst secondary that I have ever seen play for a ranked team. Just awful. I couldn't figure out what their safety was doing. He was like a spectator. Pittman looked like Wilt Chamberlain going against Pee Wee Herman.

There be no choice. Assuming Kedon has a concussion, he may not be available until late in the week.

I still think JT was our best option to start. There was nothing about his performance against Fresno State that disappointed. Out of action before half time. The fact Kedon and Matt have come in and performed as well as they have is a testimony to the qb competition.

I am really happy for him. I admire a young man that has adversity and chooses to stay the course and not run from the adversity.

Yeah he floated a few and got picked because of it. A little flatter delivery on some as well. Our receivers are great so those 50/50s are more like 75/25s. Lol!

JT is still the best passer of the group IMO. I’m not sure he’d have fared as well when chased out of the pocket as happened frequently to Slovis and Fink against BYU and Utah, but I think you’d have still seen good numbers from JT had he not been hurt.

Here's a weird one, that tackle on Slovis would have been roughing the passer in the NFL based on how that penalty is being called now.

Went off that back foot a little too often.

    NO NO NO

We were 4 deep at QB preseason and that depth vanished like a dandelion in the wind. We are now 0 deep at QB, in just 5 weeks.

This should also be a “ light bulb” moment for kids thinking about the “ transfer portal.” Football is a collision sport and collisions cause injuries.

Also this should be a “ light bulb” moment for the coaches, they should rotate in kids a lot, because you just never know. However this is the goofiest coaching staff in CFB and these guys are on the mother-of-all dimmer switches.
