Linebacker Brennon Scott was another of the Texas prospects who took a June official visit to USC. He committed to Kansas yesterday.

Edison had a very good HS football team during his 2 years there.

    This was my exact thought.
It was one thing when we were losing to other programs that are at least 2nd tier in their conference, but Kansas?
I am fine with Texas/Oklahoma/Texas Tech/Oklahoma State and that’s about it.
Kansas though, we need to step it up UNLESS he wasn’t that high on our recruiting board and we KNOW we are getting someone higher on our board than him.
To me that makes little to no difference whatsoever.
Kansas is not “hot” enough to win a recruiting battle over USC right now.

Recruits are being told not to commit to USC.

50/50 chance we lose Bryce Young.

Bama is hitting this narrative hard.
Helton will be fired if he doesn't win 10 games.
So recruits don't want to come.

Best case is we win the PAC 12 but we will have one week to flip recruits.

Swann needs to come out and say Helton's job is safe if we win early.

    If we lose.
We might have a recruiting class in the 30's or 40's.
    Helton will be gone

    It is working.

The narrative against USC is working.
You can be told anything but the fact is that these recruits believe Clay Helton is going to be fired.

    We did this to ourselves.
    Pretty much self inflicted wounds.
Should have fired him or say that he was our coach

    The staff didn't want Milton
Three other Top 50 players have said the same thing about Helton and SC.
I am sure this narrative is being told to everyone else.

To be clear, this narrative only works when the HC is on the hot seat and there is a good chance he could be fired during the season.

This thing is a dumpster fire right now and it is more than just Clay Helton.
Winning this year could help but PAC 12 in football and basketball is closer to G5 than the other Power Conferences.

Notice how for the most part these recruits aren't going to PAC 12 rivals they are leaving the conference.

That is the second part of the narrative.

Come play on a bigger stage.
