Both were highly ranked kids coming out

    Believe high 4*s

Wonder if they are ready to contribute after their injuries? Injuries havent allowed them to get on the field. Although think Ford played in a game or two and has a TD

We really need help at both positions

WR we lost ASB/Vaughns. London/Mccoy/Bryant seen like the top 3. The #4 spot seems wide open. Ford is a physical specimen if he is healthy.

Solo sadly I dont think has ever even played a game at USC. We got so thin at LB we even had to play a safety at LB. Crazy that it was Solo & EA who were All Americans coming out of HS but Mauga was in the same class has been the one who stood out. Can Solo get back to pre injury form?

Solomon should really consider taking a medical retirement. He has not played in over 3 seasons and the team keeps relying on him getting healthy instead of recruiting another ILB. Its time they load up ILB position with fresh young bodies and build depth. They are 1.5 deep at that position. Both Solo and Iosefa are eating up 2 schollies and I doubt they will ever play again.

The perks of the 4 year schollie the USC football program gives out.

I think he will even get his body right and play. He has that same drive as any highly ranked high schooler, they want to make it to the NFL....

Hopefully Solo doesn't follow in the footsteps of the Banning all-time great, Michael Alo, who never played a down at USC, after suffering a neck injury.

Yes Michael Alo was an absolute beast in high school. He played with a broken arm vs LB Poly and ran for line 200 yards. Chris Gallipo is another player who suffered with injuries never able to regain form

On a positive note, I believe Solo's injury wasn't related to the foot issue.
Every play could be last in our beautiful game of Football. BRUTAL!

I played against Bobby Otani in high school when he played for those dominant St. Bonaventure teams in the late 90's-early 2000's. I don't believe he ever played for USC but he did get his degree. He was All-State back then along with Lorenzo Booker, Whitney Lewis, and the two Bonelli brothers. USC has had some tough luck with top talent that's for sure.

Team can survive without Kyle Ford, but the loss of Solomon has been immense.

The lack of a physical middle linebacker the last couple of years has really hurt the defense.

There is no reason to believe that Iosefa will not play again. Solomon's foot was finally healthy when he tore his ACL. Both of these injuries are the type you recover from. I can't see how you can take a medical retirement without an injury that warrants one. USC desperately needs inside linebackers. I'm more than willing to keep them around for another year to see how they play once they recover from their knee injuries. It's not like USC has a bunch of 4-5 star inside linebackers wanting to attend USC and take their place. There also isn't a scholarship crunch at USC, especially with relaxed Covid scholarship rules...The linebacker room right now is fairly empty going into next year. Both these guys are needed.

Is that something recruits think about/consider during the process? Have you guys talked about that Mack?

Elijah is the WR that contemplated transferring. His twin Abdul-Malik is a LB that transferred to Neon Deion State U.

Did I get that wrong? Thought it was Abdul Malik McClain that transferred out, and Elijah decided to stay. Hahaha, I need to smoke the herb someday. Maybe tea leaves?

Elijah isn't brothers with abdul malik mcclain. I assume you're thinking about Munir Mcclain.
