Lot of talk coming from Dallas that Jerry + Stephen Jones will fire the Cowboys entire coaching staff, which means Kris Richard who is/was their defensive coordinator will be out of a job. Only makes sense for him to be courted to come back to USC & run their defense, right? Also have to imagine he will have plenty of suitors.

He will be a good choice. Young, smart, and experience enough
    And is also HC material

Hasn't he suffered enough? Can you imagine going from working under Garrett, to having to answer to Helton? It's like serving purgatory, only to end up in hell. Would any of us choose to have Helton as our boss? It must be frustrating to see things that need fixing, but being unable to do it. No thanks!

The question is does Kris want to coach college or will he be looking for another NFL gig? If he is interested in college, why not come back to your alma mater and see if you can make things better? Is he ready to recruit and deal with kids after dealing with mature athletes. Lots of questions, but he has learned a lot from folks like Pete Carroll.

Get serious guys. Helton will never hire anybody that can threaten him. Anybody that could possibly be a head coach he will stay away from. Anybody that has a coaching pedigree he will run from. Helton is like the hot girl who hangs out with ugly girls so she has no competition. How can he want to still coach when he knows Trojan nation despises him. Guy has no clue about coaching or life.

That happens all of the time in my world. Not sure about everyone else, but I often have found myself seeing things that needed to be fixed, only to be shut down because of bureaucracy or egos.

Exception, not the rule....funny you brought up Pete though. He was one of those that fired Richard.
Why does the next DC have to be an ex-SC player?

No young up and comer is leaving the NFL to coach in college and be a DC for a guy on the permanent hot seat. He's staying in the NFL.

Now if you had a Head coaching position to offer him maybe.

If you did that. Why not just offer the position to Dave Aranda? He's got a higher upside if you ask me.

    FiRE Clay:

Dave Aranda HC hire. Solves 3 problems for USC. (Recruiter, Physical football, DC position)

    1. He's an outstanding (Elite) recruiter

    2. Experienced Elite college DC
(Teaches physical football Wisconsin,LSU) big boy football

    3. Young coach /massive upside/ coached in big games. On the verge of a NC.

    4. Available and affordable 3 to 5 million a year.

One guy fixes 3 problems from day one!!!

Wake Up Mike Bohn this is your way out. The Trojan base would rally around this guy and you can redeem yourself.

*After he wins a NC it will be too late every team with a HC position will want to talk to him.

Dave Aranda would be a lunatic to leave LSU for USC and coach under Mr.Fight

Again, these aren't the scenarios that folks here "want", at all. We "want" Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney and co. to come coach here. But until Helton is fired, these are the best case scenarios, sadly. Not sure why this is hard to understand.

Because is routinely mentioned here....NTM was on the short list of replacements up top. He’s not on my list, nor is he anywhere close to being a best case scenario, if you have an issue with it, take it up with those that keep bringing him up. Does that help your understanding?

Didn’t USC have a chance to hire Dave Aranda after their bowl game vs Wisconsin in which they completely shut out USC, but failed to interview him?????

He meant Aranda as head coach.
