    I meant in the game where he acted like a big baby because the Sox were lighting his ass up for the second time in a week.

    As I understand it, the older speed guns measured the ball when it was close to the plate. The newer ones read the ball closer to when it leaves the pitcher’s hand. Since the ball starts slowing down as soon as it leaves the hand a reading close to the mound will be higher than a reading close to the plate. Don’t know that it’s seven mph different, but the explanation makes sense.

    Old Card fan here, recall nobody charged the mound when Bob Gibson was pitching. He was intimidating with 95 mph ball & as a person .
