Isn't that what Ykili Ross said during his commitment announcement at the Army AA game? He is now going into his 4th year at USC.

Yes he said that. People were talking let it was intentional but it could’ve been a mistake.

Hopefully, Kayvon scratches FSU off his list, immediately. If the kid believes in "signs" they couldn't be more illuminating than what he was shown.

Good...he believes in himself. Its a goal. We would rather have him be totally dominant for three years and then go early instead of riding the bench for two years and play one so so year.

Agreed, I don't think anyone complained when Leonard Williams left early because he was the rock on defense all three years through the sanctions. Thibodeaux has that kind of talent and if he stays healthy/clean will be in the green room come draft day.

Are we recruiting Kayvon at the Predator spot? Or at Rasheem Greens old spot along the line?

Predator ... or the other perimeter OLB/DE spot (Uchenna's former position).

    Kayvon is a pass rusher.

And BBQs and concerts won't sway this guy.

Mom is running things ... she and Kayvon are all business.

With regard to this big time, high profile, high stakes, heavyweight recruitment, I have ONE question to ask fellow posters on this board: Who would you rather have leading this recruitment than one Clay Helton? And mind, I ask that as a Trojan who was initially skeptical of Clay's hiring (noted and discussed that many times before).

That’s easy (for me), DLKU of course.
Who else would be able to sell life before and after football at USC, than someone who experienced it firsthand?
KU already looks like he is all business, so why not let him go after the big fish?

reading between the lines, I think Kayvon's family is looking for $ in this recruitment. I could be totally off, but there are some shenanigans already with his recruitment

No way. This kid is way too big time for them to be doing that kind of stupidity. He'll pick a school, play 3 years, and then sign for NFL money. He's only 3 years away from a big payday. He'd be crazy to put that at risk.

You realize that the cell phone wasn't around in 1982, let alone the internet? The Pony Express era was 37 years ago.

Do you really think that Thibodeaux would be able to walk around with a blingy watch or pair of shoes or car or ANYTHING and people not immediately post a picture to the interwebs? If his mom suddenly shows up somewhere driving a fancy car, you don't think that that wouldn't immediately be posted all over on every possible recruiting board? This ain't the SEC.

    Pony Express. Please.

Oh that was too far off for you?
How about 2003 when Lebron’s mom suddenly has this nice *** Escalade that was apparently a gift?
Point is, money gets thrown around all the time, it always has in recruiting, and it always will.

And it was investigated. Lebron's mom took out a massive loan from a bank that was more than willing to lend her the money at a high interest rate, fully knowing that her son was going to jump immediately to the NBA, not even stopping for a year at the college level.

He was the first pick overall, which vindicated the bank's willingness to offer that loan to his mother.

Where are you getting this information that the Escalade was a gift? From whom? An agent? That's legal, if it were true. But that's not the story. It was her money, borrowed legally from a bank in her name. LeBron didn't even co-sign. If she welches on that loan, that's between her and the bank.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Kayvon is a football player, not a basketball player. In hoops, you can pull a Moses Malone and jump right to the NBA by claiming hardship. No such on-ramp exists to the NFL. In basketball, the ability to assess the readiness of a 17 or 18 year old player and predict his success on the next level is much more accurate than in the NFL. Just look at the billions of gallons of ink that has been spilled the past month just discussing which QB should be drafted first, and what is the likelihood of success in the NFL. No such debate took place when Kobe or LeBron jumped to the NBA. Everyone knew they'd be successful, it was just a matter of HOW successful they'd be.

Kayvon will get paid. Eventually. He knows that a million sets of eyes are on his every move, and certainly on his every financial transaction. There is no way he's going to screw this up by shopping himself around to the highest bidder. No way.
