Will he get more money from NIL if he comes to SC?

Thats going to be a major question and one that schools will likely keep tabs on moving forward. It’s at the very, very top of the list in terms of things USC will push, so they clearly think it’s something that will benefit student-athletes more at USC than other programs. But it’s all a guess at this point. We’ll probably see some concrete numbers once NIL becomes official because schools are definitely going to use those as recruiting pitches.

I don't see how. I know USC football loves to brag about their social media presence, but everything I've seen shows a much different story. Our team's reach looks minuscule compared to a number of other major programs. Just going by the major platforms, these other programs produce online numbers (followers, views, engagement) that dwarf our own. Not double or triple the eyeballs that we're getting, but 10, 20, 30 times as many. Also, you'd think that being in LA would load the deck for us, but it doesn't. Location just doesn't seem to be important in regard to this NIL issue.

As far as social media activity.
The Pac 12 doesn't have the die-hard following as the rest if the country.
As far as L.A. or Southern California in general, winning is paramount. Front running is the L.A. way for a large portion of the populace.
However if the program takes off like when PC was running the show.
There's no doubt kids can make big money.
For example Reggie Bush would've made a fortune under these upcoming rules imo. That number 5 jersey sold like crazy.
As far as social media is also concerned Ceyair Wright might see a huge personal increase because of space jam and the Hollywood scene that the staff can sell to recruits.
Especially out west winning will be huge.
Winning in Los Angeles is just different than in Eugene, Tempe, Salt Lake and even Seattle as far marketing is concerned. Only 2 schools have that potential advantage. USC is in a far better place to take advantage than UCLA.
The rest of the Pac 12 doesn't want to see USC get rolling with this NIL situation because honestly being a star in those other locations isn't the same. USC would literally recruit itself, especially out west.

As much as I would love to sit here and believe USC has a shot here, I don't.
This is a free trip on a recruitment that I believe USC sits no higher than 4th after (in no specific order) Alabama/Ohio State and Oregon.
I can make an argument on why USC would be sitting in 5th place in this recruitment, but I won't.

Congrats on getting a visit USC.
I really do hope you all can work your magic and whatnot.

Los Angeles is one of the biggest markets for advertising.

I just don't think being in Los Angeles makes a lick of difference when it comes to this issue. What matters is reach, and sadly, other major programs have a heck of a lot more reach than we do. It's really apples and oranges. Just compare our online reach to other major programs. Compare the bump major recruits get in regard to their online following when they sign with programs like Ohio State, Alabama, LSU, Michigan, etc, etc, etc...with what they get when they sign with us. With some programs the difference is ten-fold. Compare the followings football stars at these schools have with our own top players. There really is no comparison whatsoever. Being in LA could potentially be a bonus ($$$) for players down the line in regard to industry partnerships, but from what I've seen we are a LONG ways from taking advantage of it.

Somehow Reggie Bush and making a fortune is not something I want to read.

This feels like the year we pulled Marlon and Tufele. He has very high interest in this visit because this is Home. Growing up here before moving out to Washington. I like our chances, but I understand what most folks are feeling. His uncle’s and my family grew up together in the same church. His uncle believes we still have a legitimate shot because he also grew up in SC country and a Trojan fan. Your pitching 2 great and soon to be Sunday guys on that D line with you, filtering everything back into you. You never know...but wouldn’t that be something.

I hope you’re right! Can’t imagine JT and K4 as freshman, with TuipuloTwo and the Drake. They’d wreak havoc on opposing offenses.

Even if we land JT, Helton will somehow F it up and misuse him.
