I like your enthusiasm but if the LB'er play doesn't vastly improve behind these good linemen, their effectiveness is greatly diminished.

The defense in general, has to make improvements as a cohesive unit to be able to dominate

Need to have the Dline create pressure w/o blitzing and need to not get pushed off the LOS. If that happens, LBers should be able to make plays and hopeful that the new defensive mindset can let them play free

Why have our LBs seem lacking ? Coaching?

    Coaching and schemes, IMO.....

Hoping Solo able to play now, which should help solidify that crew.....definitely has the talent amongst the players...

Jay has been living up to expectations, while Marlon has not. But in his defense, it’s hard to come back from back injuries/surgery. Stephen Carr has never been the same as the pre-injury Stephen Carr. If it wasn’t for the injury, I have no doubt that the experts would be talking about the two-headed monster DTs of USC. Still, there’s time for Marlon and Pili to make a leap in their production, where I think by the end of the season, all three will be garnering some post season honors. Fight on!

Looking forward to LB play really improving under Orlando. PG, Solo, and Iosefa should be making play after play.

This will be a tough season to judge player/coaching performances. No Spring practice and a long layoff where some players have no doubt slacked off in their training. There may be more injuries this season and more inconsistent play.

Hard to disagree. Although maybe Orlando’s “run to the ball and hit” philosophy could be perfect for what is already a truncated off-season. We live in hope.
