i think a lot of teams are going to be diving deep into players from Narbonne....Oregon, wont care, they will continue their SEC ways and keeping their hype machine going. If they dont start producing......it will be all for not anyway.

still, I can dream fondly, remembering a better time....when no respectable kid from southern California would EVER consider going to Oregon if USC was offering....NEVER

How far back is that? A quick search shows Ed Dickson turned down SC for the Ducks in '05. I'd assume before that then?

yep, I do go way back....before P Knight and even before Dan Fouts had to "settle" for Oregon because USC did not want him

Dan Fouts wasn't Socal anyway. The Bay Area is about as far from Eugene as it is from LA, and with no real loyalty to SC...the Bay Area has been up for grabs for as long as I can remember. Not sure who recruited Tom Brady, but he went clear across the country.

we did ok in the Bay area back then....ask Lynn Swann, OJ, and others. My point is still valid, kids back then knew the difference between USC and Oregon, Cal, ucly, and Stanford too. Wake up Mc Kay and Goux....they know.

In all fairness, the Quacks could barely muster a winning record prior to Bellotti, so no recruits with a SC offer were going north to lose.

Respectable kids might be choosing oregon over SC right now. That's not the problem.

Great ones are choosing Washington over SC. That's worse

Jimmy Lake as SC's next coach will change things "back"

Until I see Jimmy Lake take a program to the CFP and win I have no reason to believe this man is the right Head Coach for USC. That kind of thinking is exactly why we have Clay ''Love of My Life'' Helton as our HC now. No Assistant cast-offs, only proven coaches should be evaluated from now on.
