It's time for the NCAA to dictate schedule parity rules for teams that want to be considered for the playoff.

First idea is to require 6 road games (neutral field games don't count). Alabama only had 4 road games this season. We know how road games can trip up a good team. Every additional road game increases the likelihood of a loss. This will also nullify the payday games that patsy teams schedule with the likes of Alabama, as Alabama isn't going to travel to Mercer.

But if it doesn't, require 12 games against Power 5 schools. Feel free to do an extra scrimmage game against a Mercer if the team wants to be charitable.

    Any other ideas?

    - 5 road games minimum
    - Standardize on 8 or 9 conference games
    - At least 1 OOC road game against a P5 team

If there is going to be such variances among the conferences then conference champions must be a requirement to be in the CFP.
Wins should be counted only against FBS teams.

Losses against FCS teams should count double...Unless it's the FCS champions. Those teams are actually pretty darn good ;)

Wishful thinking, still will never happen as long as the ESPN/SEC media cartel controls the CFP committee.

I completely agree with the OP. They said when this playoff started that tough scheduling would be rewarded. They lied. Alabama getting in is the proof. The SEC is still gaming the system with 8 conference games, cupcakes in November, and total travel miles that are the same as one single Pac-12 road trip. I'm trying to be calm but the fact that this sh** is still going on just pissed me off.

You can't simply say wins and losses matter when some teams are traveling long distances for conference road games and others are playing crap U at home.

The NZAA does not sponsor or have anything to do with National Champions in college football. Under NZAA National Championships I'm almost positive it doesn't list football, at least it didn't in the past.

First you need a playoff that's actually a playoff, not this dog & pony bullshit. You play to get in, period.

And if your last game played is a loss, you're eliminated.

I'm sorry, I'm a broken record in this point.

That playoff and the NCAA are essentially independent of each other. So they NCAA cannot force the playoff committee to require teams to schedule a certain way. Even if they could the rest of the world does not share our hatred of FCS teams nor should they just because we want them to.

We are in the wrong not everyone else.

Now its time for oversight? What about the past 100+ years of football?

    Lol, exactly.

The system does not work for us and we want it to change. Instead of just doing what is working for everyone else.

No one forces us to to play 9 games against PAC-12 teams. No one forces us to refuse to schedule FCS teams.

What a bunch of whiners and know nothings.

This is all about money. No one is going to force Alabama or Georgia to revamp THEIR schedules because USC and most of the West Coast has shitty fans. The Tide and the Dawgs and Tigers sell every ticket they print for every game. The Tide will pay visiting patsies 100s of 1000s of dollars, sometimes upwards of $1.7 million to be sacrificed.

Quit acting butthurt because USC fans suck.

I couldn't leave this thread hanging with that last post. @flyfishintrojan since you purport to be an SC fan, I can only assume that statement quoted above means University South Carolina fans!

    Because WeAreSC!

You are slamming a lot of really good fans who are just as rabid as any SEC homers.

    He is so off base.

Seriously, I live in Alabama. I can walk into Walmart IN ALABAMA and they sell USC gear. We have a national fan base.

Now the other PAC-12 teams I agree with him....

We are 25th in football revenue.

I know we have lots of engaged, committed fans. We just don’t have enough to fill our stadium consistently.

You can bet that there will be a lot of Cardinal and Gold in AT&T Stadium on December 29th as well. If our fans suck, the CCG crowd would not have been overwhelmingly SC either
