Well I've been on record on hating Clay since the Texas game so there's that. Hopefully after the ND game he's gone. And more importantly the SC admin goes after Matt Campbell or Jeff Brohm real hard.

no talent on the ucla squad?

    per Rivals
    2016 - #12
    2017 - #21
    2018 - #19

At worst ucla is 4th most talented squad in the PAC.

Beating Helton doesn't make you a great coach. Otherwise all 5 other coaches should be in the Hall of Fame.

Odd because walk on RBs, grad transfers who lost with elite programs (Michigan now in playoffs without him) etc.

Let's see what chip does with 2 or 3 classes of his boys. He actually runs a system that he coaches to perfection unlike Clay.

I was never on the clay wagon and you gave me tons of shit. Looks like I saw the light 2 years before you....take a seat young man and leave the football talk to the big boys

This allegation is a complete red herring. No one here has put any "blame" on Daniels for either today's loss or the lost season. He has made, and continues to make bad decisions and lacks mobility to effectively evade pressure and extend plays. In tight moments he also tends to lock onto St. Brown. Much of this, and the general malaise and mistakes made by the team lie completely on the doorstep of the coaches starting with Clay Helton. A major problem today was Helton's cautious and conservative play calling on crucial plays.

My point is that no one should assume that Daniels will inevitably become the savior of Trojan football. And a change of pace, for a series or two, with a more mobile QB like Sears can be useful. We seem to forget that in his one appearance Sears did a fine job and made a few good plays with his legs. I would say emphatically, and this no knock on Daniels, the day of the stationary pocket passer is over. QBs don't need to be runners to be successful but they must be mobile. This will be an ongoing problem for Daniels and USC against fast, charging defenses.

NorCal don’t get wrapped up with this dunce. What are you thoughts on Daniels?

I overhyped Daniels. Sears should have started, even more so after Daniels threw that really horrible second pick. Sears was doing well against a team (ASU) that has a coach that instills toughness mind you.

Daniels was also a victim of some seriously bad play calling. That doesn't mean he's a polished star, he needs to grow. It may be a good idea to start Sears next week because JT is reeling. Those throws today were horrible. Still, he has talent and he'll be good, especially if we get some coaches who can help.

It will be if he continues to have bad schemes developed by incompetent coaches.

I don't pick him as my QB1 but he played good enough -- barely -- to win today. Vaughns (again) and Jones drop key balls, both of which were thrown very well.

LMFAO....did not do too well in the NFL. Chip beat a very bad USC team. That is no accomplishment. Chip did well because of his hurry up offense. The NCAA changed the rules a little so he does not have that advantage like at Oregon. I would not hang on his nut sack too much.

Do I go the UCLA board? No. Go to 247 and talk about the Dodgers. This is a JT Daniels thread. No ruins or Matt Corralls dentist allowed

Imagine when Chip has real players at every position. Will be scary.

As for the question, hes got every bad habit you wanted rosen to have and didn't.

    Have a good night

UCLA has been in the top 20 in recruiting the last four years. To say they have the least talented roster is ludicrous.

I don't give a rip about Chip one way or another. He does not worry me. Getting a good coach for our team worries me.
