Just wondering if anyone is as much a football-addicted junkie as I am.

While I was too young to really remember the USFL, I do remember the WLAF (World League of American Football) and the original iteration of the XFL in 2001 (which L.A. was the champ) and NFL Europe, and the AAF a year or so ago, which also only lasted one year. I like football in all its myriad forms, and always want to see alternate professional leagues survive.

I haven't checked the rosters, so I dont know how many former Trojans are still chasing their NFL dreams via this XFL.

Norm Chow still has it. Liked his play calling so far.

I remember them all, and while I enjoyed watching them to some degree, none lasted long enough to really reel me in. But I am a football fan and like those other leagues, I’ll take a look at the XFL.

One thing that the XFL has going for it now in my eyes is that I’m no longer a fan of the NFL, so it may be less likely to have that “meh” factor when watching it.

So I will check it out.

I’m a football junkie as well. I still have my Memphis Showboats t-shirt from the USFL days and an XFL hat I bought at the Coliseum when I saw a game there.
    When does spring practice start?

how do you guys like the kick off format? It does look safer with less players running around at full speed.

Jalen Greene will have nightmares about Ajene Harris after this game. Looks like Ajene remembers all of Jalen's tendencies as a route runner.

Jalen just don’t have the hands. He had the ball on his hands but found a way to let it get stripped. Ajene looks bigger

Geez - They seriously couldn't come up with a more creative name for L.A.'s team than "Wildcats?"

I can't think of a more generic team next than Wildcats. Maybe "Cougars" would have been better which, in an L.A. context, might also have some humorous double entendre meanings. But Wildcats is just dumb.

Heck, looking at the team names of ALL the teams, they're all kind of dumb, but at least "Houston Roughnecks" makes a little sense, in recognition of the oil industry's importance to the city. But Dragons? Defenders? Guardians?

Did they copy off of a early 90's Sega Genesis football game?

Also, LA Wildcats uniforms are uglier than Oregon's

I’ve always thought in the spirit of the Redskins and Indians , all teams should have a locally significant, ethnically derogatory nickname with accompanying stereotypical logo. The XFL would be primed to make an in your face social commentary.

Good point. It's pretty hard to come up with an acceptable nickname with all the PC and "inappropriate behavior" people mounting objections to every suggestion.

I find this post to be objectionable. I don’t know how, but I will stay in my safe place until I can figure it out....:)
