    The excuses for this year.
    The injuries
2nd & 3rd string QB having to play.
    The youth.

Don't totally agree, but now next season
    there's NO excuse.
The injuries mean a lot of players will have experience next year so injuries will not be an excuse. As the backups have played and have experience.

The team will not be so young next season so that will eliminate that excuse.

There should be some new assistant coaches. So next year the regular season record should be 11-1 with a pac-12 title and an appearance in the CFP. At the very least 10-2 a Pac-12 title a Rose Bowl win or Helton should be fired right? I believe that's what those backing Helton with all the excuses this season are saying.
Or is there other excuses? No

    Okay I'm in.....

Delusional fan reactions after every loss:

Lose to Alabama - we can still make the playoff

Lose to a pac team - we can still make the rose bowl

lose to another pac team - if x team loses we can still make the pac title game

lose to another pac team - we can still make the Alamo bowl

the delusional fan I described above is part of the reason USC has issues now. They donate to the athletic fund so they can brag about how a better fan they are instead of being concerned about the on-field performance.

I’ll be cheering them on from the comfort of my living room or local pizza place, but I’m not going to have nearly the enthusiasm or optimism of previous years.

That would immediately change with a win over Bama.

But the chances of that happening are, well....

yeah, I always eagerly await those
    "we win out and.........."
threads. I am still waiting because every time I have seen that headline....we did not win out.

No way. Clay doesn’t deserve another season let alone this one he just had. I’ll watch on tv and try to not get emotions involved like I usually do. It will be hard but no reason to invest in this program if they don’t care to change the problem everyone can see

Proceed with caution, and lower your expectations. Save your bloood vessels some unneeded strain.

Evey team can make the same statement.

Trevor Lawrence won a NC as a Frue Freshman (Youth excuse Debunked)

Every team goes through injuries. Nobody benefited more than USC from opponents injuries:

Stanford started a Back up QB

UNLV started a QB making his debut

ASU started a QB making his debut

Colorado lost their QB mid game. Shenualt was injured in the second half and played through.

Utah lost Zack Moss in the first quarter.

Cal started a QB that missed several weeks and he went out again mid game.

So USC can take credit when they benefit and win? When they don't it's used as an excuse for losing? How pathetic.

Bottom line is you either win or you don't.

    Every team goes through adversity.

    Don't be Conned by Helton's talking points. It's Horse$#!t.

You will be amazed how smart Credo/Bohn/Folt will be in coming up new excuses. Just wait and see.

    New assistant coaches.

That describes the staff in HH as well.....rather have the power over mediocrity, rather then relinquish the power the actual professionals and win.

    Hope springs eternal, eh?

    But 11-1?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHABABAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAHABABABABABSNAHAHAHAHABABABABABAAAAAAAHAAHABABABAABABBBAaaaaaa!!!!

If I weren't a fan and thus an optimist about all of my teams, I basically wouldn't watch sports at all.

If anyone truly thinks USC will go 11-1 next year, I would bet $10,000 against them. That's a safer bet than the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.

Injuries plague ALL teams in football. That's the nature of the sport. By the end of the year, virtually every team, at every level, is starting a handful of players who were warming the bench on Week One because the starters got injured.

USC will go 9-3 and clay helton gets retained again. 5 of the 9 wins will be ugly and brutal but bru mccoy will get those jump balls and we win by 3.

The problem is, much of your assumptions are excuses. AZ St played us without their starting qb, Jayden Daniels. Utah was without their rb, Cal without Grabers. No excuses, this is football. And even so, with this admin, there is no guarantee there would be any changes next year following a disappointing season. If they aren’t listening to us now, what makes you think they will next year?

I am in too. I had my heart set on Meyer becoming our HC so the news of Helton staying was devastating. But now I have gone through the five stages of grief and ready to root for my team.

Helton did OK his first couple of years when he had a great QB. He will have that again next season, and I am hoping he is not that dumb to start JT.

He was dumb enough to start Max Browne over Sam Darnold. I think he will give JT Daniels a more-than-fair chance to retain the starting role.

I'd be curious to see how that drama plays out.
