Husky - BYU Observations

Husky’s D is the real deal. Going to be very tough to run against them. Eason can make all the throws...what a cannon. Nice to watch BYU’s tackling. Rarely a missed tackle. I think we match up pretty well with UW, as their weakness is their WR’s, so we can pressure Eason by sending extra. Running isn’t his strength. If we get Rector back and learn to set an edge, we can make it a ball game.

 

BYU playing the same scheme against us, and it ain’t working. Can’t sit back in a zone and give Eason time to pick you apart.

 

yeah.....UW knew to come into this game taking BYU seriously. They're playing solid.

I think it is fair to say that next week could go either way, but probability will favor the Dawgs. It feels like USC has to win the game on offense and hope the D can do enough (the D is capable of big plays as we saw last night, but putting a whole game together hasn't happened).

 

Eason may be the number 1 pick next year. Hitting some very tight windows. I don’t get the Herbert hype.

 

Washington lineman Harris absolutely stole that fumble from the defender.

 

Look out- its 24 - 12 Wash, with less than a minute to go before 1/2 time.
i'd say SC has its work cut out for them.
Darnold has mono- so even if we could trade the Jets to get him back for this game it wouldn't help.

 

The D front and O- line are a mess scheme-wise. Can't run and can't defend the run. Terrible discipline/ edge containment on D and the o-line loses most battles up front and the un-believably vanilla run scheme with zero optionality or edge plays seemingly dooms them to failure.

The one positive is they gave good effort all night and never gave up resulting in a.few timely big plays.

 

My Observation is that Joe Tryon will be out for the first half against us next week!

What's interesting is that he was thrown out of the game just now for targeting on a hit that was almost identical to the one on Slovis last night which was not called even as roughing.

 

THE difference is BYU (and Utah) were able to get pressure on our QB AND stuff the run rushing only 4....that is not working against UW.

 

UW is slaughtering the "Y". When I coached I spent some time in Husky Stadium. I also went to USC games. The place is insanely loud. We will have our hands full with these guys. The noise will give them a good advantage too. We beat them the last time we played there. I believe the key is putting pressure on Eason. When he gets pressure or gets rattled he is different player. If we make it out of there with a "W", I will truly be impressed.

UW is running the ball very effectively against BYU, something we had problems doing.

 

All the blitz packages better be installed this week. The only UW WR that scares me is Fuller, and I’d only put him as above average. Let the DB’s man up and start the blitzing as soon as we get off the bus.

 

Despite last nights win, I expect 3-3 after ND and one more loss along the way (at Cal), BUT.... USC will win the South.

They will be 8-4 but I like them winning the PAC 12 Championship and going to the Rose Bowl.

 

According to my observations, I believe BYU's QB Zach Wilson's Heisman campaign is over.

 

We definitely had problems running the ball but we mostly gave up trying till late in the 4th.

 

Who’s them? You think this team is going to win the Pac12 championship over UW or UO? I’d love it, but don’t see it.

 

Unless they play us again then he’ll lock it up!

 

Better watch out for Cal too!
