Where should USC's focus be on defense tonight? Huntley or Moss?

Huntley absolutely killed USC last year...22/29, 341 yds, 4 TDs, 1 Rushing. And he threw the ball to everyone.

    Moss has killed USC for 3 straight years...2018, 25 carries, 136 yds. 2017, 20 carries, 141 yds. 2016, 23 carries, 93 yards.

Can USC keep Moss from getting 100 yards? Not sure that's even possible.

    Thoughts?

We made most QB’s Heisman Troohy contestants last season but I think our squad is a little better.

    Moss hurt us too.

Need a pass rush and we need better linebacker play if we are to have any shot or it will be a very long night.

You can’t pick and choose with these two.

Utah will be happy to run the ball 80% of the time if Moss is getting 4+ yards per carry. Huntley usually brings it vs USC, but he can be inconsistent at times too.

Huntley! Stop him and stopping the run game will be a lot easier. I would love to see some LB’s shooting the gaps and roughing/wrapping him up early and often. The offense goes through him as can be seen with how they fell off without him last season

An early turnover would really help the defense after having zero takeaways last week.

Lets just hope Clancy has a DE hitting Huntley hard on every zone read play - whether he keeps it or not. QBs don't like to get hit - but they have to be hit in that offense every time you have the chance.

You should almost always plan to stop the QB, especially a good one that runs nd passes well.

Huntley. Cut off the head and the body dies.

Honestly, does anyone believe we will stop either one?

Pretty sure this qualifies as an ejection under the new rules.

The game last year was an anomaly, Huntley is just a serviceable QB. Utah doesn't necessarily need him to do anything but manage the game.

Hopefully, it won't be Drake Jackson. We need him for both halves against U Dub.

Take away the run and spy the QB.

I don't think we can stop either of them. However, I strongly believe Utah should be penalized at least five yards a game for having the nickname Runnin' Utes. That's just stupid.

We have ALWAYS struggled with dual-threat QBs.
Huntley is the key, and we saw what Wilson could do when the play broke down or the pocket collapsed in him.
The unknown of whether he is going to run or pass is hard to gameplan against.

As usual, posters get wrong and must have slept thru the Pete Carroll era.

Stop the run first. Always. But that means stop them with your D line by being active and concussive. If you got to bring LBs and DBs up to help you are gonna lose.

This is what we need but unfortunately we have Houston at Mike who isn't going to stop Moss and unfortunately IE isn't playing as well as most of us expected. Myself included. Our DL were made to look like fools when they were chasing both the FSU & BYU QB's around only to get left behind in the dust. The same is very probable from Huntley tonight. The BYU DL ate our OL up with 3 guys and Utah's are better. This may be a long ugly night. Utah having never won in L.A is about the only real thing we have going for us. Hopefully Stepp gets more action and ARB can play.
