The BoT will keep Helton around for as long as it takes

I put 10-11 because I do not want Helton.

For another coach, I would be happy with 8-9.

I think with next year's schedule Helton will have a hard time getting us bowl eligible.

The issue is not just Heltons coaching, the issue is we had a situation where USC fans were 100% in favor of replacing him, and Swann basically told everyone to shove it. Now we are in a very toxic environment where Helton and Swann will be deeply hated

What do you mean by support him?

Do I want him back? No.
Do I want USC to win? Yes.

I can say this, if Helton hires good assistants, has the team playing solid on both sides of the ball next season and they make the CFP, I will support him.

I don’t think that will happen, but I would support him if it did.

I had to vote 8-9 but the difference between 8 and 9 is miles.

I voted 10-11 because I expect USC to win at least 10 games each year. Unrealistic, I know.

I'll accept 8 wins plus at least one win over our two hated rivals. I'd say beating bRuins at home has more chances winning at South Bend.

Wins do not matter .. Helton is here for a while ...
If they did not fire him this year they never will
The Pigeon will not be leaving anytime soon and he knows it .. no pressure to succeed

You said it for me except there is no way SC makes the CFP, that’s a beauty contest. At this time, SC is not beautiful. So, I’ll take SC playing solid on both lines and the rest should take care of itself.

I mean want him to stay as coach after next season. I agree that if he gets next year's team to play like the exact opposite of everything his past teams have played like, then I will support him. Odds of that are pretty close to 0.

I wasn’t satisfied after the ‘16 season Rose Bowl victory. Why? Because it was not a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP victory.

USC should PLAY for NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS! To his credit, Clueless Clay said as much in his Sunday morning press release. Does he mean it? Is he just saying what he needs to hold on to and keep his lucrative job? I don’t know. But, he does say it. He said it at PAC-12 media day during the summer, too.

Whether he can ever get there is another question. And whether he actually means it is another as well. I think he does, but I also think he sucks as a coach. Therein lies my predicament.

It's not just the win total.
    It's how we play.
    Are we getting better?
Do we practice like a serious D1 program?
    Are we organized?
There is a long list of problems that have always been present and got masked by win totals.

Fix those problems and the wins will come.

“He'll, I'd settle for beating both rivals during odd years .” - Blueblood addition to my post.

    Blueblood, are you mocking me?

    Regardless, FTFO brother.
