The Basic Rules are as follows:
*We will track predicted scores (one guess per person) and come up with a winner by 'least cumulative variance.' That is, the real variance of each team's guess added together.
*We will apply the ’Cardinal and Gold’. Please use whole numbers only. Fractional numbers will be rounded by standard convention.
*If two people have given the same score, then the first one that gave the score is the winner. Other than that, there could be co-champions. if two people have given different scores, but have the same cumulative variance.
*If someone has two guesses in the same post, for humor or other purposes, I will use the first guess unless it is obvious that the 2nd one is the 'real' guess... so try to be clear.
*Edits to posted scores will be allowed until game time, but as above if there is a duplicate, the time posted for the earlier guess will be the winner...so be careful. If an edit shows, then the time of the edit will be used.
*If the least cumulative variance happens to pick the wrong winner, they will be awarded "Closest to the Pin,' but the overall winner must guess the winning team correctly.
*A 'Most Wrong' Award will be given out for the guess with the largest cumulative variance. As long as the guesses are at least somewhat within reason. Nothing over 70 points scored for instance is probably reasonable for either team this week.

*No more guesses or changes once kickoff begins.

I like what you did there DJ. 24 is what WM scored on us offensively. I think our plan will be a more on target for Stanford so even though they presumably have a stronger team, that may offset.

Max Browne led offense only scored 10 on Stanford D last year. though it was in Stanford and we sure hope that Sam has a better control of the offense this year.

    I'm going to go USC 24 - Stanford 21

34-17. You're not holding a Sam Darnold-run offense with those RBs under 30.

44-24 USC. Sam bounces back from a zero passing TD game, and throws 3-4 TDs against Stanford. We get revenge from the loss at Palo Alto last year

    31-28 SC

Tight game, McGrath wins the starting job with the go ahead score.

I think the game will be a lot different than WMU game.

Clancy Pandergast has been able to stop the run in PAC 12 games.Don't ask me why.

Also David Shaw calls the games inside the red zone. He tends to shoot himself in the foot.

The game will somehow turn into a slugfest and Sam Darnold will make the difference.

21-19, SC wins with three touchdowns. While Stanford scores one touchdown and 4 field goals.

    USC 45 Trees 20
The offense starts fast again, but doesn't let up this week as Ronald Jones II runs wild and opens things up for the play action where Sam finds the tight ends for big gains. The Furd gets stymied at the LOS by a physical and fast front 7 that keep gap integrity this week.

Trojans will not fade in the 4th and lock it up with a long TD drive.

    USC - 31
    Farm - 17

28-17 Trees...........sorry to be the downer, I think their run game controls the clock and we score late in the 4th to make it look tighter than it is. im not confident on the toughness or physicality of our squad. they got stonewalled or pushed around by WM too much. not taking anything away from WM, cause I think they are a good team...but they aren't Stanford.

Im not sure how vegas has us at 5.5 favs....I sure hope they know something that I don't.

I feel good about this one. Stanford played two weeks ago against one of the worst teams in the nation in Rice. They basically never got out of practice mode. Contrast that with USC who faced a very good Western Michigan team. A team that mimics Stanfords style of play. Stanford replaced a lot on defense and offense.

    USC - 38
    Stanford - 23

This is a bit off topic but good luck for a full recovery from his patellar injury to Florida State's QB, François. You really hate to see something like that happen.
