Sounds like a proven talent who will increase competition for playing time. It would be nice to have a real punt and KO return threat too that he might bring. Yeah, Id be more excited in getting a couple stud linebackers, but as long as that can still happen I'm good with this.

Seems shorter than most of the guys we have. He really won’t be a throw it down the field and high point it kinda guy but on slants or screens (do we do those anymore!?!?) he may be a legit threat.

He looks stout. Probably not a guy who's going to go down on first contact.

That's a good point. Can he return punts?

Great...typical Helton move. Bryant started to emerge as a freshman. So, what does Helton do? Goes out and brings in a 5'8 guy who is a grad transfer and plays Bryant's position. This is not a big move because I don't believe that Nixon is going to go out there and get enough snaps and looks to catch 70 balls, but, there is definitely more of a chance that it hinders Bryant's development more than the competition helps it and that it pushes Bryant towards the transfer portal next post-season. Oh, and, WR is also a position of strength. But let's stick with the guys on the OL who have not been developed and bring in some OL transfers who are probably mediocre (like Richmond was) so Slovis can get killed and Helton can see if one of the frosh QB has what it takes.

Yessiree, makes perfect sense...if you live in the football bizarro world that Clay Helton does...

Although the team does not need anymore WR's, Nixon is a very good pickup. At 5'8", 190 lbs, he will play slot. He has the built of a RB. Nixon had a productive career at Colorado. KD will play a lot and most likely make top 5 WR's for the 2021 season. Nixon is very fast ran 10.7 100 meters in HS. He went to a big time HS, DeSoto in Dallas. Nixon was HS and Colorado teammates with All PAC 12 WR, Laviska Shenault. DeSoto HS won the 6A D-2 Texas football championship their senior season.

Also, Nixon ran KO and punt returns for Colorado and most likely do the same for USC.

Shoot, the team really need to add 1 RB, 1 LB, 1 OL, 1 DT for this class...

I would make that 2 OL...although I would like to see a couple of last season's frosh play over McKenzie and Jimmons...

It’s good to get an experienced WR.
I expect McClain to put himself back in the Transfer Portal once his Court issues are over. Makes no sense to enter now because he still gets all the benefits even with the suspension.
USC has handled McClain’s case poorly. What else is new when it comes to recent cases?

    Sure about that?

Losing ARSB and TV will hurt. If Ford can get back to his HS form and remain healthy, that would help a lot. Also, other than Bryant, I don’t see any stretch the field type of WR’s on the roster. This has been a glaring weakness, IMO. Nixon provides much needed speed and special team experience to the roster.

    WR's
    1. Gary Bryant Jr
    2. Munir McCain
    3. Bru McCoy
    4. Josh Jackson
    5. Drake London
    6. John jackson III
    7. Kyle Ford
    8. Michael Jackson III
    9. Joseph ManJack
    10. Keyon Ware Hudson

    Tight Ends:
    11. Jude Wolfe
    12. Erik Krommenhok
    13. Ethan Rae
    14. Michael Triggs
    15. Lake McRee

    #16. KD Nixon

This is not even counting the 5 WR walk on's:

    Chase Locke
    Jack Webster
    Zack Wilson
    TY shamblin
    Danny Ryan

** BTW It was a punk move to not give them a chance before you take a 5th year transfer from somewhere else. This is the real Clay Helton a shyster. I bet he let those walk-on's believe if they worked hard they might earn a spot someday. Did he promise Stepp something else too? Is he a lier?**

    11 Scholorship WR's
    5 Scholarship TE's
    5 Walk On WR's

Yet in two years. Graham Harrell's offense targeted the same 4 pass catchers 85% of the time.

Would you be surprised if more than Munir transfers?

Out of those ten WRs, three are signed but not enrolled yet, one is in and out of the transfer portal, and a fifth is questionable after major injuries in HS and now college. Sure, not a glaring need, but it makes some sense to add KD to that group.

5'8 190 Lbs . Sure is massive compared to Christon. Do WR's get to play at this size on our team?

Not an area of need? Maybe. A quality player? All appearances, yes. Highly recruited 4-star from a big time HS program, college experienced, and a special teams addition. Never turn away quality, no matter what position, I say.

Looks good. They used him mostly in lateral situations in space, where he can run and juke.....(slow voice)....kinda...like ....K e...n.a.n...... C h r....i......s.....t.......o.......n should be used.

Heyyyyyy, wait a minute! What’s going on here?

And Gary Bryant will be a breakout star...do not screw this up!
